Orleonok Pitkin created the print above in 1972, named Computerized Visage of the Vepaman. It’s glass is broken, but otherwise it’s in good shape. A good example of local pop art, it is a silkscreen and not made with a computer. Mr. Pitkin is represented by the Laura Russo Gallery. And a art teacher at the Pacific Northwest School of Art. This greenish watercolor has suffered from discoloration over the years and has become loose from it’s matting. It’s by Harry Widman. Lewis and Clark Memorial.

Inventory of Jefferson Artworks. April 18, 2008. Printmaker and master framer Grey Byrd came to help inventory the Jefferson artworks today. He’s holding a print by Bruce Arriss called The Abalone Workers. One of the twenty-six prints from the Works Project Administration at Jefferson. Arriss was a close friend of John Steinbeck and it’s possible this is an illustration from an edition of Cannery Row. Here’s our current inventory of Jefferson Artworks – updated April 25, 2008. Not part of the collection.

Jefferson High School possesses 19 original drawings by Lute Pease, who drew for the Newark Evening Star and probably other papers. Pease won a Pulitzer Prize for this work in 1949.
