Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Sorry it's been awhile since our last post. Hopefully Baby will bring me back to the blog (in all of my spare time.). Anyway, we recently had a party to reveal the gender of our baby. I had had my ultrasound at 18 weeks, but we did not find out the gender of the baby at that time. We asked the tech to put the gender in an envelope for us, so that we could find out at the party with our family/friends who were able to come to the party. They turned out really cute! Benedict Broadcast: Community Ownership the Key to a Successful Water Project

http://www.jeffandjackiebenedict.blogspot.com/2014/08/community-ownership-key-to-successful.html

Thursday, August 7, 2014. Community Ownership the Key to a Successful Water Project. One key aspect to Community Development (CD) is community ownership. I love the policy the CD office in Shell, Ecuador holds which is, "The minute that we want [the project] more than [the village] does, we're done." We do not force our programs/projects on any village, and they participate in the project even more than we do. There are a few key reasons for this. First, we are there to develop. The village communities h...

Friday, November 30, 2012. One small privilege for which I’m truly thankful. While it was a bit sad to not be able to see our families for Thanksgiving this year, we actually had THREE Thanksgiving dinners with our American friends (and even a few Canadians and New Zealanders) here in Asia. We were so blessed to be able to celebrate at all, let alone to have THREE celebrations! We had one with our team here in Asia (photo above), another with some friends from church (and met some more new friends! That ...

Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Chapel In the Air" Program Has Great Impact (by Jeff). One of the places where Jeff and team installed another satellite location of WRL. He said that even the very first night that the station at Kimbe was on the air (one of the stations we helped get on air when we were there in May), he had listeners contact him saying they had turned to Christ! They also had more than 20 general text messages throughout that first night thanking them for getting WRL on the air in their town.

One of the coolest things about going to Nepal was being able to see the ministries that are taking place there through our partners. It’s great to see how radio can enhance their ministry or be another tool that they can use to help reach their country with the gospel. Here is one story:. How do they do it? Monday, May 14, 2012. The Hepting Family...: June 2010

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

15 weeks plus photos and video. Today begins week 16 and what a blessing that I was able to feel the baby move for the first time this morning and he/she has been nonstop since then! I am so busy with Luke that I forget sometimes that there is this sweet little baby growing inside of me. Well, I forget until I try on my pants and can't get them buttoned! Just a couple of more weeks until the big reveal. yay! Luke's been great though! Here are some recent photos and video we thought you would enjoy! Off t...

The Hepting Family...: August 2010

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

We recently returned from visiting my mom in Texas. Boy was it hot there! You really do get used to the "dry" heat in Arizona. I couldn't believe how sensitive I was to the humidity! It was my first flight experience by myself with Luke and it actually went really, really well. Even with our delays! I really can't complain about the way there or the way home. We got lucky and had an extra seat next to us both ways so it was nice that he didn't have to stay on my lap the whole time. Stay tuned for pictures.

The Hepting Family...: And the next 3 months after that ...

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2012/02/and-next-3-months-after-that.html

And the next 3 months after that . Oh where to begin! How have I let 8 months go by without a peep? Well, Makenna is almost 14 months old now and Luke will be 3 1/2 soon! I'm hoping to make this more of a priority as there's really no better way to journal about our goings on. And there's a lot of that with two little ones always on the move! Luke enjoyed the extra attention and I enjoyed the extra help around the house! Boooooo for long commutes. especially with two little ones at home! With Don and Gigi.

The Hepting Family...: July 2012

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

In an effort to catch up on blogging, let's begin where we left off, shall we? November and December highlights included a visit from my sister, Jodi, who had not yet met the kiddos and Makenna's first birthday! But first, a picture from Halloween that I should've included in our last post! Luke was Buzz Lightyear and Makenna was a cute little ladybug. We had so much fun trick or treating! And it was great to spend some time with her! Makenna started walking a few days after her birthday too! Welcome to ...

The Hepting Family...: Happy 6 month birthday to Makenna!

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2011/06/happy-6-month-birthday-to-makenna.html

Happy 6 month birthday to Makenna! Our precious little girl is 6 months old today and she was such a little angel today! She was up later than usual last night (like way later) but slept in until 8:15 this morning. Took a nice, long nap this afternoon and during her wake times, was just so much fun. Lots of smiling and talking. she's just too cute. We have her 6 month appointment on Monday so I'll be curious to see what she weighs. I am guessing 18 or 19 pounds.she's a little chunker! Started some solid ...

The Hepting Family...: April 2010

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

And our front yard is finally feeling finished. it looks great! We spent Easter at Jen and Ryan's house and Luke ate his first jellybean. Or should I say first fifty jellybeans! A Veggie Tales video, a new bathing suit and a few pieces of chocolate. He also got some cute things from Auntie Jen and Grandma/Grandpa, as well as an "Easter package" from Gigi and Don! Last weekend, Luke turned 18 months! So what is Luke up to these days? It's so cute to hear him communicating that I just want to hear more&#46...

Birthdays, Boats and Ear Infections.OH MY. A happy belated blog birthday wish to my hunky husband! Jeff turned blankity blank last weekend and thanks to some dear family friends who offered to watch Luke, we enjoyed a Saturday night out with our friends, Josh and Katherine. Did you know you could eat free at Benihana's for your birthday? We both really like it there so we took full advantage of that! Followed by some delicious Yogurtology. I love that place! Here's what I got Jeff for his birthday:.

The Hepting Family...: October 2011 update - Luke turns 3!

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2012/02/october-2011-update-luke-turns-3.html

October 2011 update - Luke turns 3! It has been no secret that our little guy has a bit of an obsession when it comes to garbage trucks. He LOVES them, we have four of them in our home and they never get old! He keeps asking for an orange one but we haven't found one that is reasonably priced. The only one I have found is $60! Ummm not happening. But I keep looking. We're so grateful for our sweet family and friends who were able to celebrate with us. Dear friends make it more special:. We were outside a...

The Hepting Family...: November 2010

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

It's so funny (and a bit strange) to revisit video from just a few months ago. Luke has come such a LONG way with his vocabulary and pronunciation. This was a cute one from when we were in Texas visiting my mom and we skyped with Jeff one night:. We also visited White Rock Beach with some friends. You can see sweet little Kayden Glups crawling in the background. :) Luke saw, touched and picked up his first crab. Pretty cute. (and gross, but I think only to me :). Today it says "23" days! The nursery is m...

http://heptingsinaz.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

We celebrated the big 3-4 in our family earlier this month and then a little 2 on October 18th. I cannot believe I am 34! Ugh We're getting old, people. I have to remind myself that I'm extra "crickety" right now due to being 33 weeks pregnant and not because I am aging! And now on to the very momentous 2ND birthday celebration! He was SO excited for his birthday party. He was up extra early that morning and took a very short nap. That really excited mommy and daddy! Monday, October 25, 2010. Friday Favo...
