For the Love of Food: Did someone say TUNA?
http://jeffandjodicook.blogspot.com/2009/05/did-someone-say-tuna.html
Sunday, May 17, 2009. Did someone say TUNA? The answer to the weekly question was TUNA: versatile, healthy, savory and satisfying, but most importantly, a protein we could all agree to love. The question? What should we have for the family dinner Sunday night. The salad: edamame, radish, steamed carrot, orange, avocado, cilantro and mixed lettuces (you can see how I started to love this idea- it just screamed healthy good times). Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Who doesn't love morels? 160;To find them on a restaurant's menu is a goose, to be sure. Even better to see and smell them raw and dirty at the farmer's market. But to walk through the just-woken forest ground among fresh signs of deer and the first weeks' growth of all manner of wild green things and to suddenly hear, "I FOUND one! Next up: Central Ohio's classic Fried Morel sandwich. Buttered bread, floured and butter-fried mushrooms, more buttered bread. T...And finally (ou...

Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Cruising into the Future via Mexico. Alas, we are in Chicago, which translates as: at the end of all the craziness. Between the move across the country, the wedding and cruise, and settling in to a new place.we found ourselves floating back and forth from elation to exhaustion over and over again.WHEW! Great time to stop, take a breath and share one or two stories from the wedding trip as a bridge between the San Francisco foodie life and the exciting Chicago adventures to come.
For the Love of Food: October 2008
http://jeffandjodicook.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 16, 2008. Once upon a time in Montpelier, Vermont we spent many a lazy morning leafing through our friend Sandra's cookbooks over coffee. There was something magical about that kitchen space with its long wooden table, windows to the endlessly green world of Vermont, dogs underfoot and John's impeccable music selections piped in from mysterious locations. . What we were in the mood for! Sunday, October 5, 2008. A Study of Corn. Corn shows us its silky side when pureed and the marriage...
For the Love of Food: Live Nude Veggies

Monday, June 22, 2009. This little number is one vegetarian dish that has enough POW to substitute for 4th of July fireworks. It is always a pleasure to discover something we may not have stumbled into on our own and this was the case with the raw kale salad you see here, sandwiched between the red and orange. . We were doing some work with Northshore health guru, Dena Mendes. The final, but crucial ingredient is the jalepeno vinaigrette dressing the perimeter of the plate. Trust me, this is no...Earthy...

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: The view from my kitchen today:

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Thursday, May 27, 2010. The view from my kitchen today:. It was the only way to get dinner done today with no potential injuries.). Canister camping stoves are nice because theyre pretty much plug-and-play. Theres no pumping or priming. Turn the knob, light, and you have immediate maximum heat. You can also adjust the heat to a lower level than liquid fuel. Cooking Equipment. May 27, 2011 at 11:08 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My favorite recipe sources.

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Thursday, May 8, 2008. Couscous salad with spiced mini burgers (from RealSimple). I've been holding on to these pictures for about a month. I made this recipe for John and it was a hit! My stomach didn't tolerate the spices too well (dang pregnancy! But the leftovers didn't last long. The recipe made a HUGE bowl of the salad that fed John for days (it helps that he loves leftovers! Here's the recipe link. Sometimes to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs, huh?

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: April 2008
http://feedyourinnerfatkid.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Lately lunch has been an unimportant and ignored meal. I coach track, practice starts at 1:15, and I usually have a late-ish breakfast. Unfortunately, somewhere in the middle of practice I get RAGINGLY hungry! I'm committing to making lunch more of a priority for my pregnant self's sake (oh I guess the baby's sake too, hee hee! I had Trader Joe's. Organic Shells and White Cheddar, prepped according to the box directions. And yes, I ate it all! The thing I...

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: The easiest way to cook chicken ever in history.
http://feedyourinnerfatkid.blogspot.com/2011/03/easiest-way-to-cook-chicken-ever-in.html
Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Thursday, March 24, 2011. The easiest way to cook chicken ever in history. You won't be surprised to hear that I use Antonio Banderas, aka my beloved Crock Pot, to cook chicken. This method is an easy, cheap way to cook up chicken for many uses! If you want a "roasted" or "rotisserie" chicken this is NOT the method to use, but if you need some chicken for chili, chicken salad, etc. this is PERFECT! Step 3: Spray your crock with cooking spray. Step 5: Put the top on the Crock Pot.

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: January 2009

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Monday, January 12, 2009. Fun finds at Target. Lately my cooking has been, well, sparse. Instant oatmeal, cold cereal, and fried egg sandwiches usually round out the menu during the first half of my day (and if I get in two meals by 2 pm I'm in great shape! In the last few weeks I've made a marvellous discovery! Archer Farms Macaroni and Cheese. I picked up a box in the Four Cheese Florentine flavor because the only necessary ingredient was water. I can handle that!

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: August 2008
http://feedyourinnerfatkid.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Monday, August 25, 2008. When my mom was here last week she busted out my cook book and made one of her old standby recipes: easy garden bake! It was sooooo good. The whole family left yesterday (sniff, sniff), and John and I were starving for lunch after we got back from our hospital appointment so I rifled through the cabinets and discovered that we had enough ingredients for another batch! Don't you just love it when you don't have to go shopping to make something delicious?

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: June 2007
http://feedyourinnerfatkid.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Friday, June 1, 2007. This is my most popular and most-requested recipe (butter cake is a close second). I got it from Mom's cookbook, and I believe it's the Nordstrom recipe, but I'm not sure. I go heavier on the lemon juice because we like them a little more lemony. GOOD STUFF! 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (divided). 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar. 1/2 tsp. baking powder. 4 eggs, beaten. 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind (optional, I never add this). 1/3 cup lemon juice. Return pan to ...

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid: April 2007

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Saturday, April 7, 2007. I made this last night and I thought I'd take a minute to type it out since Ash called me recently and asked me how to make it step by step. There's not a thing wrong with making your spaghetti sauce from scratch, but this is a lot quicker and just as good (in my opinion). 1 lb lean ground beef (dark ground turkey works too.when I make a big recipe I use both together). 1 medium onion, chopped. 2 jars spaghetti sauce (the cheap stuff in cans works fine).

Feed Your Inner Fat Kid. Saturday, March 10, 2007. Turkey Meatballs (From The Food Network's Giada Delaurentiis). I watched this gal whip these up on her cooking show years ago and tried it out from memory. My early versions were ok, but when I finally found the recipe I blew John away! Apparently, Italians normally use dark turkey for their meatballs in some measure. It definitely makes the meatballs more light and tender. I love the recipe! Turkey Meatballs and Pasta. 1 lb ground turkey (dark meat).

Thursday, March 29, 2018. Sickness has not wanted to leave our family! Holli even ended up in the ER when she was having a lot of problems breathing. But after some breathing treatments and medicine she seems okay! We got to do some more fun things on our Pogo passes. Eli went to Enchanted Island, which is a little kids amusement park and he had a great time. Presidents Day we went to the very busy Urban Jungle and the kids loved wall climbing, and playing on the trampolines and play structures. Alise de...

Jeff and Jodi's Place
Monday, March 2, 2015. Coleman - Animal Rescue and Basketball. February was such a busy month! I can't believe it's already March! I have to dedicate this post to my buddy, Coleman. He is such a good kid! The other day he heard our cat meowing as we were walking to the car. He looked in all of the 'usual' places but he couldn't find Mitz! He finally followed the sound to Lexi's window well and saw her, stuck in the bottom, trying to claw her way out. He jumped in. I'm so glad he's my boy! Rylee General C...
