I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at The University of Toledo. My current research explores officeholding practices in American political development, with a focus on wealth accumulation by party leaders during the late nineteenth century. In 2014, I received my PhD in political science at the CUNY Graduate Center. Where I conducted historical and ethnographic research. From 2009 to 2013, I taught undergraduate courses at Hunter College.

In the Journal of Historical Sociology. Reevaluates the Gilded Age Tweed Ring. As a speculative political bubble. The period's most infamous political scandal is often described as the classic example of urban corruption. By contrast, I argue the case study demonstrates how nineteenth-century political entrepreneurs employed public office to convert political capital into economic capital.
