DMA Blogoverse: Welcome to the Blogoverse
http://blogoverse.blogspot.com/2006/08/welcome-to-blogoverse.html
Welcome to the Blogoverse. As per requirement of your DMA class you'll be blogging, likewise I'll be reading and commenting. I went through this class last year, so I've already seen my share of posting. Trust me, you'll want to keep on top of it. I know I wrote quick notes on my binder if there was anything post-worthy I thought of during class. H2 class="sidebar-title" Links /h2. Blogging can be a fairly painless process if you keep on top of things and don't forget the pieces you see in class. I'l...

Posted by Neil Zehr at 1:55 PM. Wednesday, September 06, 2006. While I still start out with that abstract story idea in my mind, translating that from idea to image is quite different from the translation of idea to word. I am beginning to learn what my strengths and weaknesses are in this new method of storytellings,...

Neil's Intro to DMA Thoughts: November 2006
http://neilthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Neil's Intro to DMA Thoughts. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Posted by Neil Zehr at 10:55 PM. Sunday, November 19, 2006. The X-ray Vision music video was quite intriguing to me. For a flash animation that was relatively simple, it had a very nice effect. The isolation of the character was very well portrayed. And the expression on the character's face and the look of the room while the tv was playing was quite powerful. Posted by Neil Zehr at 10:39 PM. Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Monday, October 30, 2006. The Nightmare Before Christmas. It had been a recent occurance that I had decided I liked this movie. I'd seen it early on as a child and hadn't been too impressed (the reason I know recognize as something sits wrong with the story. I love the story, there's just something a bit peculiar). But anyhow, I was excited to get to see this again. Look at the feet of the puppets. Barbie's got nothing on them. Can you imagine getting those puppies to stand up? To not topple over? Theref...

Tuesday, November 14, 2006. The big animation group project. This is what I had been looking forward to this whole semester. But after the first project, which I enjoyed but was a pain due to scheduling problems, I was kind of nervous. True, the groups would be smaller, but would that help? Would it be as difficult and as frustrating as last time? So now I want to briefly discuss my reactions to the other films. In no particular order. Am I an idiot that I just got the name? That was sheer brilliance....

Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Three Uses of the Knife. I really enjoyed reading this. One of my favorite lines (apart from the gun part, which was hilarious) was: "But the purpose of art is not to change but to delight.". That is so true, and for Christians, especially important. When we obsess over only creating "Christian" art, be it writing or painting or movie-making, we limit our audience so much! Posted by Jimi Bonogofsky @ 6:19 PM. This short film caught my attention on Tuesday and it's refused to l...
