Michael and Merrilyn in Russia. We are missionaries in Russia. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Our "P" day Monday we went on a walking tour with a friend to show us the city. This is a lake and park that is next to our apartment. We go for many walks in the park. In the evening they gather in an area and dance, very entertaining. Michael and Merrilyn in Russia. We are missionaries in Russia. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Some of the young Elders wanted to visit the sister who lives in the country so back we went. We had a good visit and the young Elders gained a greater appreciation for this sister and how she lives. While we were there we pulled water from her well and filled the reservoir with a weeks worth of water. These two sister are good friends. The is the kitchen of her house. The fire became the center of the picnic.

Michael and Merrilyn in Russia. We are missionaries in Russia. Friday, December 26, 2014. Ice sculptures in Tomsk Russia. This time of the year you don't have to worry they will melt away. Perhaps one of the favorite with the children is the giant ice slide. They either slide down as they are or sit on a plastic dish, then they really go. It all starts with a block of ice. Really quite amazing. As you can see we took these pictures in the day. We will soon post picture we will be taking at night.

The lighting on these sculptures is really beautiful. There is a tradition here that when you get married you place a padlock on the fence to symbolize locking your love together.
