CHAINSAW ARTIST PROVIDES RACCOON SCULPTURE TO JEFFERS BEND. Marshall County, Kentucky, chainsaw artist, Sam Dunning, provided a raccoon sculpture to Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville in the fall of 2013. The five foot tall raccoon sculpture was carved out of poplar tree. The idea for the raccoon sculpture was offered by students in Dr. Patricia Todd's marketing class at Western Kentucky University.

ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER AND BOTANICAL GARDEN. Jeffers Bend consists of a 40 acre grassland, 1 acre lake, 2.7 miles of walking trails and six buildings which once housed the old Hopkinsville Water Treatment Plant. Built in 1895 along the North Fork of the Little River in Hopkinsville, these facilities are ideal for water quality, environmental and botanical learning activities. End of Metcalfe Lane).
