Joe's Foster Dogs: The Blisters of Dog Rescue
http://joesfosterdogs.blogspot.com/2008/10/blisters-of-dog-rescue.html
The Blisters of Dog Rescue. We’ve all heard the analogy of life—a few steps forward, a few back. For some, it is three forward, one back. With others, it feels life one forward, three back. Dog rescue is no different. Another maxim is centered on the laws of thermodynamics. In short, because of entropy, everything is moving to a close. We are all moving to an end. Life will one day be over. This is true of life in general, and life as a whole one day. Pretty bleak…but reality. That meant a trip to the ve...

Joe's Foster Dogs: Who Am I?
http://joesfosterdogs.blogspot.com/2006/12/power-outagain.html
I am a former elementary school teacher that has taught since 1992. I've written a book titled, Inside the Classroom. For parents. Playing drums and piano have been a strong hobby since childhood. My education led me to degrees in psychology, theology, and a professional teaching credential. This dog rescue business fell upon me suddenly. Joe's Foster Dogs: How Well Do You Know Dogs Challenge
http://joesfosterdogs.blogspot.com/2006/12/when-lights-go-out-in-city.html
How Well Do You Know Dogs Challenge. Dogs live by rules and have a social structure. The entire pack cooperates under a single leader. Lines are clearly defined which means there are rules, boundaries, and limitations. The leader of the pack eats first, and then the rest of the pack can eat. When your dog growls at you when he is eating, he is saying "I am the leader, and you must wait.". Let’s unpack the simplicity, but tremendous importance of what has been said. 99% of ALL behavior problems with dogs.

Joe's Foster Dogs: Why Do I Get Involved in Animal Rescue
http://joesfosterdogs.blogspot.com/2009/05/as-journalist-i-decided-to-go-to-animal.html
Why Do I Get Involved in Animal Rescue. This was written by a journalist (author unknown) but it summarizes well why those in rescue go for it. As a journalist, I decided to go to the animal, and interview some of the “inmates”. I wanted to know what it was like in there from their perspective. What follows is not for the faint of heart. The shelter worker led me past a big steel door that says “Employees Only”. “What is in there? 8221; I said. “May I come in? 8220;Enter,” was all he said. 8221; I asked.

Joe's Foster Dogs: Buddy News
http://joesfosterdogs.blogspot.com/2010/10/buddy-news.html
I finally emailed Shelly who helped me get Buddy shipped to CT for adoption before moving to the UAE. This was by far the most difficult decision for me. I have hesitated following up with Buddy because i didn't want to hear any bad news. No news is good news right? Shelly emailed me back and said Buddy had a rough time. He didn't get along with the foster family and moved from foster to foster like a troubled teen. That is great, live and let other live. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I've have bee...
