Present Perfect Coach: February 2010
http://presentperfectcoach.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Do I See You? Executive Coach and author Russell Bishop explores a concept that readers of this blog have seen before. The belief that there is the possibility of perfection within each moment. Even within times of challenge, Bishop writes that there is positive learning in negative experiences. It's an examination of the laws of attraction, yet from a different perspective than the current pop culture variety. Bishop employs an older concept, "the mirror:". I grew up in the M...

Present Perfect Coach: Butterflies
http://presentperfectcoach.blogspot.com/2010/09/butterflies.html
Wednesday, September 15, 2010. During the course of the past week, my family lost a very dear long time friend. She had been friends with my mother since grade school, and in many ways, she was like a second mother to me and my siblings. We called her "Aunt," and she was far closer to us than most blood relations in all the ways that count. As we drove into the cemetery, a butterfly flew past our car. Can I just say that I question the repeated use of quotation marks? September 19, 2010 at 12:05 PM.

Present Perfect Coach: December 2009
http://presentperfectcoach.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. The New Year's countdown has begun, and as much as I hate to be trite, I am joining myriad pundits and commentators in expressing just how happy I am to move on the the new decade. 2009 was a hell of a year, right? And on a brilliant Sunday morning in May, I saw my son become a college graduate. Of course, we know that the moments of triumph are just that - moments; snapshots in time. Moments to cherish and celebrate, of course. And moments to help prepare us for what...Thurs...

Present Perfect Coach: November 2009
http://presentperfectcoach.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 6, 2009. The Infinite Value of Limited Time. This week, the New York Times posted its last segment of the blog "Happy Days: The Pursuit of What Matters in Troubled Times.". As the Times described it, "Happy Days is a discussion about the search for contentment in its many forms — economic, emotional, physical, spiritual — and the stories of those striving to come to terms with the lives they lead.". These words particularly struck me:. The finite nature of life can be paralyzing. Peo...

Present Perfect Coach: May 2010
http://presentperfectcoach.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 20, 2010. I am lifting a post in its entirety from new media/social media marketing maven Seth Godin. When something is perfect, why mess around? Sentences, paragraphs and chapters. It's laughably easy to find someone to critique a sentence, to find a missing apostrophe or worry about your noun-verb agreement. Sometimes, you're lucky enough to find someone who can tell you that a paragraph is dull, or out of place. Here's the link to Seth's blog:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). More than 25 ye...
