Glad Fear. Lonely. Shame. I had extensive sinus surgery last week. Before the surgery the ear/nose/throat specialist warned me that the recovery would be pretty miserable. She was not exaggerating but she left me with a promise, “A week from now after we are able to remove the plastic splints that will be left in your sinuses after the surgery, you will feel much better.”. Why I Like Craig Barnes. This is some of why I'm reading everything I can get my hands on by Craig Barnes:. Thursday, March 07, 2013. Our staff is reading Deep and Wide, the amazing book by Andy Stanley. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE! It is an important read for anyone who cares about the future of the church. It's hard to choose quotes from this book because I soon realized I was underlining about 90% of everything in it. But, today, this part stuck out to me. It's hard to extend grace to people who don't seem to need it. And it's hard to admit you need it when you aren't sure you'll receive it.
