paper bluejay: onion skin easter eggs
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2015/03/onion-skin-easter-eggs.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Onion skin easter eggs. Every easter, for as far back as I can remember, my grandma would dye eggs with onion skins. she would bring them over to my brother and i, still warm, with a little story about how the easter bunny had been by and left them for us. In addition to being an environmentally friendly alternative to the synthetic dye kits sold in stores, they also make for some unbelievably beautiful eggs - and a happy family tradition i am excited to carry on with finn. Once ...
paper bluejay: the sisterhood - carina thiedeke + bree galbraith
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2014/09/the-sisterhood-carina-thiedeke-bree.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2014. The sisterhood - carina thiedeke bree galbraith. Sisterhood - a bond between two or more women, not always related by blood. they always tell the truth, honor each other, and love each other deeply, like sisters.'. Full of dreamy images and beautiful surrounding. last year (during all her free time, i guess? Ha), she published her first children's book, once upon a balloon. A sweet tale of two brothers and the magic and whimsy of childhood imagination. i look forward to...
paper bluejay: five
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2015/04/five.html
Friday, April 10, 2015. I don't know where the time went, or how this boy of mine is officially leaving babyhood behind, but yesterday, my sweet finn turned 5. May you always keep your strong will and unwavering opinions, your kind and tender heart, and your innocent ability to be completely unfazed by peoples differences. you are such a rad kid and one i tear up thinking about each night before bed, and one i smile thinking about each morning before you open your eyes. paper bluejay: salt spring island
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2015/06/salt-spring-island.html
Friday, June 19, 2015. Whew, its been a while! In all honesty, the spring and summer months always seem to bring with them an overwhelming flood of hecticness- burstingly full days of hanging with friends and hopping all over this beautiful city. of course, we love every minute of it and would have it no other way, but it obviously means less time for picture taking and blogging. Incase you are headed that way - we highly recommend it! Posted by jessica thorburn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
paper bluejay: October 2014
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 25, 2014. Lace cookies (vegan gluten free). Two years ago when i was told a good friend of mine had allergies to dairy and gluten, i was completely stumped as to what that left (baking wise) for her to enjoy. fast forward to now, and i have yet another friend with a similar sensitivity to both diary and gluten. but at this point, i'm a seasoned pro when it comes to vegan, gluten-free baking. (see whoopie pies here. Slightly modified from babycakes. 3/4 cup coconut sugar. In a large bowl...

paper bluejay: an indoor play tent for finn...
http://www.paperbluejay.com/2012/02/teepee-for-my-sweetpea.html
Sunday, February 5, 2012. An indoor play tent for finn. I have wanted to make Finn a tent since the day I found out he was growing in my belly, but have always been a bit nervous that it might be a project beyond my skill set and that it wouldn't turn out like the incredible tent I pictured in my head. Last week, I came across a near PERFECT play tent tutorial. Canvas- 3 meters long by 60" wide. Needle and thread (I used thick embroidery floss with an appropriate sized needle). Things you want to dress u...

AN INTERVIEW WITH ANDREW POMMIER. What was the first thing you made that you remember being proud of? You really hadn’t even used acrylic paints before that? Never; not until art school. Did you attend high school art classes? I did I had a series of terrible art teachers in high school. My last year of school though, I did an art intensive year at the performance art school in Sudbury. I mostly used ink and watercolours there. Never acrylic. What was growing up in Sudbury like? Were you a valley local?
