Fat Old Jogger News: January 2011
http://fatoldjoggernews.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Fat Old Jogger News. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Waiting is a drag. You know I'm full of shit! No surprise there. But I hate it when my shit even backs up on me. So here I sit waiting for the RotoRooter guy to come clean the pipes. The road to the house is really messed up as they are replacing all the utilities. Could this be the problem? The crew has busted the main water line a few times and has my driveway blocked off to do some work(? A real pain in the butt. Saturday, January 1, 2011.

Swim smart, ride strong, run tough" - Gordo Byrn. Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Ironman Coeur d'Alene - The Race. And now time for that race report…. Got the body markings done first thing then headed to the bikes to find Jared and pump up tires. Jared being a CDA veteran reminded us not to fully inflate the tires as they had a tendency to start cool then heat up later and blow out. Great tip! 34 of 250 in M45-49. They spent 30 minutes fearing that I had dropped out or had some problem. It wasn’t un...As I ma...

http://tritimkc.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Swim smart, ride strong, run tough" - Gordo Byrn. Monday, August 3, 2009. Heading into the last big week of training before the taper begins. This is week is number 27 of a 30 week plan. Wow already? Just finished up the 2nd to last big weekend of training so only one more long ride and run left. Saturday morning a few storms rolled through town which pushed things back a bit. Eric and I were going to meet at the Bike Stop. A note on nutrition:. I'm still trying to get a better handle on the energy requi...

Tim's Training Blog: October 2009
http://tritimkc.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Swim smart, ride strong, run tough" - Gordo Byrn. Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Apparently we are back to training. Out 6 miles to the turn around in about 8:38 pace and then finished the run at 8:25 per mile average. My heart rate was vey hight the entire run and I guess that's not surprising considering we're just getting back into the swing of things. Note* Don't dare mention how beautiful the sunrise is while running with a bunch of smart a$ guys. You are just asking for abuse! So this week I'm going e...

Tim's Training Blog: November 2009
http://tritimkc.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Swim smart, ride strong, run tough" - Gordo Byrn. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. 20% Chance of Dry. I fully expected to wake to rain this morning being that the local weather guru's forcast was an 80% chance of rain. So I had the rain jacket set out just in case, turned out I didn't need it after all. Even though it was only about 45* this morning, it seemed warm, I guess due to the little bit of humidity in the air. Run Stats: 6 miles, 50:01 (8:19/mi), avg HR 147. Thursday, November 19, 2009. It was a pret...

Swim smart, ride strong, run tough" - Gordo Byrn. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Thirty weeks of training seems to go by faster and faster every year I do this. Surprising too because this year has been a real challenge to get the training in with the crazy weather all through the winter and spring. This year more than previous years just seemed to have more cold and rain on the weekends then I can remember. Again this year my training buddy Jared pulled me through some tough workouts and it's been really great...

Photos & Ponderings: October 2010
http://ponderingphotos.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Philosophical meanderings with a bit of photographic joy on the side. Sunday, October 31, 2010. This photograph adequately sums of the frustration of my fall. Last year we had an abundance of color amid a wet and almost constantly raining autumn. It was great and it eventually led to a heavier than usual winter. This year the colors have been as sparse as the rain and I've found myself searching in different places for the splashes of color that I've been wanting to add to my collection. If there's somet...

Philosophical meanderings with a bit of photographic joy on the side. Monday, February 7, 2011. Coming Up For Air. It's hard for me to believe than an entire month has passed without a post from me. But the real reason that I've disappeared from the blogging world is that I've finished Blood and Steel. Since the beginning of January I've typed two-thirds of the second draft, and it weighs in at just over 30,000 words. Last night I was up past midnight finishing the first draft, which totals 111 handw...
