And it immediately conjures up the aromas and magic of the East. Here in the UK only the stems are available from supermarkets for use in the kitchen. It was not until I started growing Lemon Grass at the Herb Farm that I discovered how amazingly useful and flavoursome the leaves are both in the kitchen and for herbal remedies.

Velkommen innom min glade hageverden. Mandag 27. april 2015. Nå har våren presset ut vinteren på Fagertun. Endelig! Det er når jeg sitter slik at jeg kommer nærmest hjertet av hagen min. Det er da jeg tar temperaturen og sjekker allmenntilstanden til Fagertun. Jeg ser hvor det er problemer, hvem som sliter, hva som spirer hvor og jeg finner frøplanter som er verdt å ta vare på. Bedene betraktes nedenfra og nærkontakten med halvvåkne insekter, jordens dufter og små mirakler er intens. Det er en egen verden.

I was inspecting my beds in the usual fashion when I noticed this very pretty fungus. It felt as though it was a magical land waiting for something to happen. In daylight it was interesting too, of course.
