Thoughts and ideas on Architecture by Erik Lenaerts. Sunday, 26 August 2012. Mirakel, a simple Orchard site. The site for my wife's new venture is up and running, since a couple of days now and I'm happy with the results :). The site is based on Orchard CMS. Which is an ASP.Net MVC based web content management system. Orchard is a very active open source project led by these guys. With plenty of support on their codeplex forum. Next to their good documentation. Date of the workshop (date time field).

Thoughts and ideas on Architecture by Erik Lenaerts. Friday, 20 September 2013. Architectural boosts for SMB companies. Many SMB companies today face similar issues as their bigger counterparts when it comes to effectiveness of their IT. They share the same problems of IT decay also known as technical debt. They also struggle to transform into the digital world of today. Since they are smaller they ought to be more flexible and agile, right? The business effectiveness of an IT landscape over time. Person...

Line 20: HTML5 key for publishers in the digital era
http://blog.line20.be/2013/10/html5-key-for-publishers-in-digital-era.html
Thoughts and ideas on Architecture by Erik Lenaerts. Thursday, 10 October 2013. HTML5 key for publishers in the digital era. Publishers are in the midst of creating e-book variants of these to provide a digital copy and some even repurpose their content into online databases and dropping the book concept as a container of content. So what if publishers could focus on digital publishing but still support the printed books as well? I strongly believe that today's technology allows us to do so. key tech...

http://blog.line20.be/2013/10/building-responsive-websites.html
Thoughts and ideas on Architecture by Erik Lenaerts. Thursday, 10 October 2013. Last evening I held a presentation showing how one can start building responsive websites. The idea was not to give an in depth session but to inspire my colleagues at E2 Partners. I'm not an expert by far, but maybe my knowledge on the subject was just about enough to give them an appetite for more. Started out by laying out the context, what exactly is responsive design. Check out my slides:. Is an Enterprise Architect in t...

Thoughts and ideas on Architecture by Erik Lenaerts. Wednesday, 12 June 2013. Is Microsoft going too far ahead? It seems that Microsoft wanted to take the lead for a change in the technology landscape, not a bad idea. However they've put a lot of their prime products in the scale to wager with. Before they launched Windows 8, Microsoft already announced that this was their biggest bet ever. A camera that is watching you. And a price point that looks it is targeted at hardcore gamers. In my job I advocate...
