Jelly Bean Jam: August 2013
http://jellybeanjam.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. Made It Monday - Spring scarf. With a "Spring Fling" showcase in mind, I dove headfirst into my yarn stash. and came up with the most gloriously sunny "springtime" yarn I could find. The yarn is beautiful hand dyed 4ply Blue Faced Leicester from Anaïs Yarn. In a "Pastel Rainbow" colourway. Combined with a warp of "Citrus" in 4ply Classic from Bendigo Woollen Mills, it just sings Springtime! Which starts on September 1st. Links to this post. Labels: Made It Monday. And some of this.

Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Miss J's Cold Rock Birthday Party. Julia is now Miss 7 (where has the time gone! And this year I took the easy route - her birthday party was at Cold Rock Ice Creamery. What a fantastic party it was! All the party goers loved mixing their own Cold Rock ice cream! There was dancing and games. And I think you can tell that Miss J had a great time. Julia's birthday dress was made by Shelli at Shelli Morse Design - on Facebook. And shop on madeit. Links to this post. My name is ...

Wednesday, June 26, 2013. The Gallery - A beautiful city. For The Gallery. the theme this week is Green. This is the city in which I live. It's a stunning view of Canberra, taken from Mount Ainslie and overlooking the Parliamentary Triangle. Straight ahead at the bottom of the photo, you can see the Australian War Memorial, with the red gravel median along Anzac Parade leading to Lake Burley Griffin. On the right is Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, with the Captain Cook Memorial Jet shooting high in the air.

The Occasional Blogger: March 2012
http://hoccasionalblogger.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Occasional thoughts of an occasional person. A cartoon might help! Saturday, 24 March 2012. Still walking through Europe - Germany mainly. Looking for pictures that show where I have trodden, I find that it's not natural to take photos looking down at your feet! Here in the Casino, I walked on the thick carpet, reflecting on the many the "rich and famous" who would have had lost money here. With no active patrons, it was a quiet experience of grace and opulence. Heidelberg, a City of Education. Saturday,...

The Occasional Blogger: Luxembourg and Trier
http://hoccasionalblogger.blogspot.com/2012/04/luxembourg-and-trier.html
Occasional thoughts of an occasional person. A cartoon might help! Saturday, 14 April 2012. This seems to be turning into a travelogue, but I've tried to stick to mainly including photos of places where I have walked. The shoes are still going strong and are very comfortable. This is one of the shopping streets in Luxembourg. The country has a highly developed economy, reported to have the world's highest nominal GDP per capita. Smooth pavement outside the National Library. Church of St. Gangolph. Subscr...

The Occasional Blogger: Last walks in Europe - for now, anyway
http://hoccasionalblogger.blogspot.com/2012/04/last-walks-in-europe-for-now-anyway.html
Occasional thoughts of an occasional person. A cartoon might help! Tuesday, 17 April 2012. Last walks in Europe - for now, anyway. On the Rhine, heading towards Amsterdam. The next walking tour was through the modern city of Bonn. I last visited Bonn in 1969, when Germany was still divided into East and West. Bonn was then the capital city of West Germany. There were some interesting things to see in Bonn! It was late in the afternoon and the Market Square was a little cluttered by. I stopped to look at ...

The Occasional Blogger: Walking on Water
http://hoccasionalblogger.blogspot.com/2012/04/walking-on-water.html
Occasional thoughts of an occasional person. A cartoon might help! Saturday, 7 April 2012. What a wonderful place to "row, row, row your boat" on a calm Sunday morning. After a morning's very scenic and peaceful cruising, we reached Cochem. And it was time to start walking again. A short and sharply steep gangplank led down to the path. You can see where our ship is docked, and the path beside - I took this photo. From the bridge in the next photo. Why is it that when travelling, we seek security. But I ...

Occasional thoughts of an occasional person. A cartoon might help! Saturday, 5 May 2012. Walking and Wading in Tasmania's West Coast Rainforest. I was in our "overseas" state for 9 days last month and it rained every day! Though to give credit, the sun will sometimes break through at just the right moment for a good photo opportunity. But as I say to tourists who complain about the weather: "You're in a cool temperate rainforest, and without the rain, you wouldn't see such an abundance of greenery! These...

Jellybean in the Kitchen | Cooking and Baking
Jellybean in the Kitchen. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 1, 2012. I’ve always been interested in these but have never made them until now. Joining the Tuesdays with Dorie cooking group is pushing me into new areas and out of my comfort zone with baking. And only to discover these were so simple to make! You just mix a few ingredients in a blender and pour them into a greased muffin pan. What could be simpler? What was my baking experience? How did I like them? August 9, 2012.

Sunday, March 27, 2016. The Great Easter Maths Challenge. It's Easter 2016 and I have a new Easter Egg Hunt to share. This is for Julia, my maths-loving 9 year old (how can she be that big now? I will admit that I was hoping that the Easter Bunny would just drop a few eggs off this year without the whole hunt thing. That peaceful thought soon evaporated earlier this week when Miss 9 clearly stated "I love the Easter Hunts that Easter Bunny leaves every year! I hope he leaves one for me this year! Suitabl...
