Wednesday, 30 November 2016. The weather has turned very chilly all of a sudden and with the temperatures dropping we have been experiencing some very cold but extremely beautiful frosty days. The daily morning walk to pre-school soon gets us warmed through, and we arrive with cheeks and noses all aglow. My hand knitted woolly socks are now my favourite thing to wear. Thursday, 19 May 2016. Last weekend was Lily's birthday and all we have heard for the last couple of weeks is "three candles"! We had a lovely day, just the three of us, with family joining us in the evening for a slice of cake and, of course, some party rings. The day was ours to do as we pleased so we travelled to Haverthwaite and caught the steam train to Lakeside at the south shore of Windermere. A relaxing journey of about three and a half miles. Thursday, 20 October 2016. We are definitely well in to Autumn season here now. It feels much cooler, the days are shorter and the trees are shedding their leaves. The cutting back in the garden is still a work in progress. Not that there is a lot of it, I just haven't found the time. Although, the table and chairs have been put inside and are awaiting a coat of wood stain in preparation for next year. It's strange to think how I had no desire to do any kind of crafting during the late summer months....

Posted on December 1, 2016. During our recent visit to Turkey. One of the places that Ellie wanted to see was Ephesus. To be absolutely honest, I was not that bothered because I thought if you have seen one ampitheatre you have seen them all and we don’t live that far from Chester. But given that we were there to celebrate Ellie’s birthday, I went along for the ride. It was an interesting ride too because our taxi driver spoke very little english and our turkish isn’t the best. It was pretty amazing.

Evie was at that magical age when she was just beginning to understand that something special was happening. In this picture, she has her new pajamas and slippers on, the fairies will have left them under the tree earlier in the day. Her hair is still damp from her bath “for Father Christmas”. She has left the mince pie and diet coke for Santa because, he does have a lot of driving to do on Christmas Eve.
