Join me on my journey to the Sunny Coast! Friday Five – Five Ways to Stay Healthy on a Travel Day. Published January 29, 2016. 2 Drink lots of water. Traveling is dehydrating, dries out your skin and not only makes you tired, but makes you look tired. Drinking water, and lots of it, help mitigate that. I always bring my own water bottle because you never know when and how much you’ll be served. Aim for eight ounces of water per hour. Did I miss anything? Comment below with what works for you! Join me on my journey to the Sunny Coast! Training Update – Consistency is Key. Published January 27, 2016. I can’t believe we are nearing the end of January! Where did the time go? This month has been filled with work, travel and or course training! With my first half ironman of the season only 74 days away I thought I would comment on how everything is going thus far. It takes that first workout after being back for me to relax and realize that all is not lost and I’m going to be OK. Friday Five –...

Join me on my journey to the Sunny Coast! Friday Five: Five Things I’m Loving Lately That Make My Life Easier in the Kitchen. Published February 5, 2016. My most recent favorite is my Fagor Electronic Pressure Cooker. This thing is amazing! I’ve been using it lately to cook rice or make polenta. I simply put in the dry and liquid ingredients, push the rice cooking button, and boom, in less than 10 minutes my rice or polenta is ready to serve. If you love risotto, you will love this! Be First to Comment.

Marathon Mom: I'm not a walker!
http://runnershoe.blogspot.com/2015/06/im-not-walker.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. I'm not a walker! I’m not a walker, at least not today! There is nothing wrong with walking, I mean I love it! Taking O or Cooper out on a nice day or walking to grab a few things from the store. I love it when that is my intention. But as a rehabbing runner being called a walker sucks! Don’t get me wrong this is huge but I’m ready for more. I head back on Wednesday for a re-evaluation and further clearance. I think I’m still bitter over the previous week when I was once agai...

Marathon Mom: Back to this thing called running!
http://runnershoe.blogspot.com/2015/07/back-to-this-thing-called-running.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. Back to this thing called running! The end of June/beginning of July are the absolute busiest for me at work, since Sunday I've worked at least 10 hours each day and my normal lunch time has become 1pm (not fun when you get to work at 6am). Same picture last week. Now add to that preparing my thesis presentation and thanks to a holiday no school for O on my planned day to work on it. Time to resort to Frozen! Send her some good vibes for a quick recovery and successful surgery.

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Try Runners Choice- Giveaway! About a month ago I was asked to try Runner's Choice which is a mix of essential oils made just for runners or those who spend a lot of time on their feet. I was hesitant, I need evidence and have backed away from the whole oil thing so far but why not try it. Of course I did my research and found evidence that wintergreen, eucalyptus and peppermint are good for muscle aches. Besides running (when I'm not injured! The Runner’s Choice. The Runner’s...

Friday, March 27, 2015. 5 Things on Friday. It's been an interesting week of ups and downs, snow and now sun, stress and fun. Last Thursday I found out I'm allergic to Cooper! It explains why I've felt like my seasonal allergies haven't quit since last spring and my asthma has been kicking my butt! I have been chosen to join Team UCAN Inspire! Ask me if you want my referral code of 10% off. Yep woke up twice to snow this week! Seriously I am done with this! Last week we took O to kindergarten orientation!

Monday, September 25, 2006. That Son of a B* * Ferris Buellered Me! This weekend was full of much needed relaxation. Friday night we headed up to Tinseltown to see. Which was very dark but very funny. Saturday we ordered a pizza, drank some beer and hung our heads as we watched the debacle that was the PSU/OSU game. We rounded out the weekend but renting.
