A Malaysian in France: Our mission at Louis Vuitton
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2010/03/our-mission-at-louis-vuitton.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Monday, March 08, 2010. Our mission at Louis Vuitton. I don't want to talk about how hubby broke his ankle and created all kind of inconveniences in our life. Instead I want to blog about one of the missions I have in Paris: buying bags at Louis Vuitton. Yes, one person can only get one model, as they need to save the rest for other customers. Why do people want to buy LV bags in France when they can buy those bags in their own country?

A Malaysian in France: My child could apply for Malaysian citizenship
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2011/03/my-child-could-apply-for-malaysian.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Tuesday, March 01, 2011. My child could apply for Malaysian citizenship. In Sept 2009, I raised my concern about the fact that my child would not qualify for Malaysian citizenship. As the law says that child born abroad will follow the father's citizenship. In Apr 2010, the Malaysian government issued a statement saying that children born abroad to Malaysian mothers qualify for citizenship. And Lampiran A 15(2). 4 Child born before 1 Jan...

A Malaysian in France: The Asian cliché
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2015/06/the-asian-cliche.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Sunday, June 14, 2015. Around once a week my coworkers would bring over something to share at coffee break hours : croissants, chocolate breads, brioches (sweet bread). Most of the time is for their birthday, or someone leaving the company. The vending machine proposes a bunch of coffee drinks except one type of tea and tomato soup. I do not take coffee. Most of the time people spend like 30 minutes to chit chat, two breaks/day meaning on...

A Malaysian in France: July 2015

A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Saturday, July 11, 2015. Summer camp around a Castle. Last summer I read on our community newsletter that they were having a summer camp for kids of 4-6 years old. I immediately contacted the Town Hall, but I was told that all camps were fully booked. Friday evening, we went to pick her up. Her first reaction was crying in hubby's arms. After hugging us, she calmed down and started showing us what she did. Posted by Bee Ean. The last Sat...

A Malaysian in France: Liberty vs conformity
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2009/04/liberty-vs-conformity.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Tuesday, April 07, 2009. It is hard to believe, as a foreigner in this country, that in France a region has only one kind of roof color. If you are living on the north side of the Loire river, chances are you will be covered under gray slates; else living under the red clay tile on the other side of the Loire. No choice for other colors in a residential area. No choice for a sky blue color (maybe in very exceptional condition? We have pu...

A Malaysian in France: Why French women don't buy Louis Vuitton
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2015/08/why-french-women-dont-buy-louis-vuitton.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Saturday, August 08, 2015. Why French women don't buy Louis Vuitton. I do not know of any French woman who owns a Louis Vuitton bag. I seldom see anyone carrying one in the streets where I live, except in Paris, where tourists are everywhere at anytime. Yesterday I thought of these reasons:. 5 The most importantly, showing off is not in the mentality in general in France. Less showing off = less need for LV bags. Posted by Bee Ean. Becau...

A Malaysian in France: Class duty
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2009/06/class-duty.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Sunday, June 14, 2009. I'm very surprised that in France students do not have to perform class duty. Basically, they do not directly participate in cleaning the classroom: sweep the floor, clean the white board, align and tidy the chairs and desks, wipe the windows, empty the dustbin and decorate the white board at the back of the class with articles, photos, students art work. A Malaysian in France: School year end performance : The Little Prince
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2015/07/school-year-end-performance-little.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Sunday, July 05, 2015. School year end performance : The Little Prince. Around March, the kids started having rehearsal for their stage performance. This year, the dances were designed around the theme "The Little Prince". It is such a clever idea, as the film will be released this summer, now parents could tell their kids that the film is related to their stage performance. Then come the pilot. Afterall, the film is coming out on 29 Jul...

A Malaysian in France: August 2015
http://www.malaysiafrance.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A Malaysian in France. The sweet and sweat in the romantic country. Thursday, August 27, 2015. Two weeks ago there was this news. Reporting that for 12 years, a French railway (SNCF) employee was getting paid 5400€ monthly, even though he was sitting at home waiting for his new assignement. He now claimed a 500000€ compensation as his career life was ruined. Apparently, he was put into cupboard after disclosing a fraudful pratice in the company. What would you do if you were him?
