Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; Newest addition. Monday, August 16, 2010. Last week, we got a phone call from our midwife informing us that our baby’s newborn screening bloodwork came back showing a positive for galactosemia. Galactosemia is a condition in which the body is unable to use (metabolize) the simple sugar galactose. We had to take Asher into the pediatrician the very next day to have his screening done again. In addition to that, we had to take him to a lab to have a vile of blood drawn for the ...

Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; I hate conditions. Getting Back To It! Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Well, yesterday morning while we were at the birthing center waiting to see Lori’s midwife for our 2 week post natal appointment, Lori got a call from our pediatrician. He called to let us know that Asher’s labwork results came back from the metabolic geneticist and they were perfectly normal! He DOES NOT have galactosemia! What a huge relief. Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; Older Entries. It’s a………. Monday, March 8, 2010. We had our ultrasound on Friday and the baby looked good! I made a card and had the tech write in it what we were having. We then took it to Round Rock Bakery and had them make a cake in which the filling was either blue or pink depending on what the baby was. Saturday, we had a few friends over to celebrate my early birthday and the great cutting of the cake. When we sliced it open, it was blue! What will it be? So small am I,.

Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; Older Entries. Getting Back To It! Tuesday, April 1, 2014. It’s beginning soccer. Surely at this age, it can’t be that hard. Both kids had their first games this past Saturday. We were pleasantly surprised at how well they both went, considering they each only had two practices under their belts. I’ll have to get some pictures of from both of the games. Man, those little t-ballers….how freaking cute they are! They look like miniature baseball players. Wednesday, August 18, 2010.

Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; It’s a………. Any day now…. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Lori is now 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. Not too much longer till her due date. However, I don’t think that she’ll make it that long. There have been a bunch of signs pointing to the fact that she’s pretty close now. I won’t get into all the descriptions of said signs, just know that things are progressing along. We won’t know anything until this next little one is born. I’m ready to get the show on the road! Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; Any day now…. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He’s here. Go ahead and start pushing! He was born 3 pushes later at 3:02AM. I was in utter amazement at the whole thing. Lori made it look SO easy. This was her first completely natural childbirth and she made it look like she had done it 10 times before. It was incredible! Heck, I look more tired than she did. And I think I literally broke more of a sweat than she did. The other picture is Lori’s mother holding Asher. I’m still in ...

Each Day Wiser :. Laquo; Good news! Getting Back To It! Tuesday, April 1, 2014. It’s beginning soccer. Surely at this age, it can’t be that hard. So far, it hasn’t been that bad. I’m just dealing with short attention spans right now and of course inexperience. But I think the kids are having fun. And that’s really all that matters at this age. Teach them the fundamentals of the game and of being on a team, make sure they have fun, and the experience will come with time. Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL.
