Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Is a memoir about her addiction to heroin and subsequent life as a prostitute to support her habit. The very best thing about this book is the no nonsense storytelling. Holden doesn't come from a place of a victim who fell into this horrible life. She doesn't blame her parents or boyfriend or the big, cruel world. This book is very straight forward. Some might find it to be too unaffected, too unemotional, but I think it only adds to the story. Posted by Jeni Angel.

Sunday, June 18, 2006. A Wedding in December. Another book in just a week's time. The internet is so lucky! So, Dawn gave me A Wedding in December. Many moons ago. However, I just haven't had time to read it. I mean, the other day I found a book I didn't even know I bought. They are just everywhere. In any case-Anita Shreve is one of my favorite authors. Everything she has written, I've just loved. Except this book. B-O-R-I-N-G. The whole thing is thoroughly predictable. Skip this Shreve story.

Monday, March 12, 2007. I love blogs. I am obsessed with blogs. I currently write 4 blogs. I am not so sure blogs should be books. I have read my share of blogs turned books. You can read one such review here. I didn't think this book was of that category-until I read the first two entries. Belle de Jour: Diary of an Unlikely Call Girl. Had an intriguing cover. I judge books by their cover. But that seems like a lot of searching and a lot of work. I guess my overall thought is: take it or leave it.

Monday, October 05, 2009. Is one of my favorite writers. Everything she writes is just a delicious treat. From her twitter to her blog to her books-I love it. Which is why my dislike for her 4th book, Pretty in Plaid. As a side note: this was the first book I ever read on my Kindle. This book is the prequel to Bitter is the New Black. It actually starts with a young Jen and works forward. It's really classic Jen writing, but I felt like it didn't work. Does it make me love Jen less? Posted by Jeni Angel.
