A blog about birding. Monday, 9 February 2015. RSPB Fowlmere and Wicken Fen. Thursday (29th), we headed up to visit RSPB Fowlmere after having bit of a google on reserves we hadn't visited yet. Reviews said that this was a pretty nice place so we ear marked it, hopped in the car and headed up there, it a little over an hours drive for us. Friday the 13th for some reason has always been associate with bad luck, and when Mike and I headed up to Northfolk for a weekend away and a visit to the RSPB Minsmere (that day) I didn't expect to see anything exciting. A blog about birding. Tuesday, 23 June 2015. Norfolk Getaway Part III - Tawny Owl Chicks! While we were away, we stayed at the Sandringham Estate Caravan Club site, surrounded by Glucksberg Woods. One night we had a toilet issue and Mike had to go out of the caravan to do what you do with caravan toilets. When he came back he said that there was an owl out in the woods making a huge racket! So Thursday evening about 9pm we headed out to have a look. She was in and out faster than I could focus my camera!
