What do you collect. One of my interview questions at Art Center was if I collected anything. I responded: vinyl, vintage textiles, old LIFE magazines, sneakers, and red/white/blue Americana-themed picnic gear. As far as I can remember these coupons have always looked the exactly the same, and they're ugly and obscenely oversized. Time Magazine on Detroit. Time Magazine bought a house in Detroit for journalists to live and write about the city for a year. The story behind how this came about is covered in " NYT. And the Time blog. When I was in Detroit, I felt like I entered into a blackhole where no one knew where I was nor cared to be there. My dear friend Haik Avanian. Launched a project a few months ago called reknit. I used to think it was pronounced "wreckin' it" but I was likely projecting). Wednesday, May 20, 2009. UK spring, 2009. I made my usual spring trip to the UK, primarily to hang out at Nigel Dennis' sea kayak symposium on Anglesey. It was a great event as always and I got to do some fun paddling, coach a lot, and catch up with friends from all over!
