Beauty out of Dust: Adoption Story, Pt. 1: The Planting of Seeds
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2011/09/adoption-story-pt-1-planting-of-seeds.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Adoption Story, Pt. 1: The Planting of Seeds. A long, long time ago (mmm, about 5-6 years? In a land far, far away (okay, it was in Michigan), Doug and I were talking about marriage and children, and Doug mentioned casually that he'd like to adopt someday. I agreed that it was a good idea, but didn't really think too much about the idea after that discussion. Then we went to Africa. November 7, 2011 at 1:42 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Beauty out of Dust: Adoption Story, Pt. 3: A Decision
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2011/10/adoption-story-pt-3-decision.html
Sunday, October 2, 2011. Adoption Story, Pt. 3: A Decision. In June, Doug and I attended Student Life Camp in Alabama with our youth group. David Platt was the speaker (and if you've read my blog. For any amount of time, you've probably gathered that I hold Platt in pretty high esteem) - and he shared with us about the adoption journeys he and his wife have gone through, including the news that they had just been matched with a little girl in China that very week! Guide us in the right direction. We ...

Beauty out of Dust: waiting
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/08/waiting.html
Thursday, August 2, 2012. Understandably, the most common question I receive these days is:. When do you get to bring Bo home? I don't know. We've heard that the "average" wait time after passing court is 6-8 weeks. That's probably best case scenario. We are trying not to get our hopes up too high. That being said, we were submitted to Embassy a few days ago. And honestly - we are glad that the process is thorough. Yes, the wait is hard. Yes, I look at his picture several times throughout the day. Prayin...

Beauty out of Dust: Adoption Story, Pt. 5: it's all about the baby, benjamins.
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/05/adoption-story-pt-5-its-all-about-baby.html
Thursday, May 31, 2012. Adoption Story, Pt. 5: it's all about the baby, benjamins. Anyone get the reference? See what I did there? As I mentioned in an earlier post, one of the biggest hesitations that Doug and I had in jumping into the adoption process was the staggering cost. I don't like to talk about money. But in order to share a more complete picture of the ways God is directing this show, it needs to be mentioned. On average, an adoption from Ethiopia ranges from $25,000 - $30,000. Adoption Story,...

Beauty out of Dust: Adoption Story, Pt. 6: Fortune Cookies
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/06/adoption-story-pt-6-fortune-cookies.html
Thursday, June 7, 2012. Adoption Story, Pt. 6: Fortune Cookies. On Sunday, April 15, I was sitting in my friend Patti's classroom, taking a break from hours of painting set for Beauty and the Beast. We had ordered Chinese food for dinner and were in the process of reading our fortune cookies. I opened mine and read, "An unexpected event will soon make your life more exciting." I laughed, feigned terror and said, "Please not this week! Disclaimer: I do not believe that fortune cookies are prophetic. Jumpi...

Beauty out of Dust: "home"
http://partonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/08/home.html
Monday, August 27, 2012. Have you heard the song by Phillip Phillips? But before we go any further - is that his real name? So, this song "Home." I googled it to see what the meaning of it is. And I didn't find much. Just that it was written for American Idol, PhilPhil didn't originally love it, blah blah blah. Anyway, though I'm fairly confident after watching the video that it was not written for adoption. But I like to pretend it's an adoption song. Hold on to me as we go. Just know you're not alone.
