Bee Balm Gal: Apr 7, 2015

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Cicero. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. I am loving my new bargain chore boots: twenty bucks in the men's shoe department at Walmart. Just what I needed to start tackling our backyard cleanup this afternoon. If you live in snow country and have dogs, spring brings certain challenges. Hasn't this been the grayest, brownest, coldest spring you can remember? Here it is April 7 and there are only a few hardy shoots greening up in our garden. 1051 NW B...

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Cicero. Wednesday, April 8, 2015. We were out running errands late Tuesday afternoon and the Handsome Husband suggested we stop somewhere for dinner. We agreed to try a new-ish restaurant at the north end of Ballston Spa. The HH ordered doner (gyro) kebab, above, with a dark Efes, a Turkish beer. I chose lamb shish kebab, shown in the first photo, and a Goose Island IPA. We both liked our meals and agreed that we would happily go t...Alatu...

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Cicero. Friday, October 10, 2014. Ed Miller has been one of the unofficial leaders of the Thursday Naturalists for some time. Yesterday, he arranged for the group to tour part of the Landis Arboretum. In Esperance, NY, just west of the capital region. The day couldn't have been lovelier. Blue skies and changing foliage, mild temperatures, no bugs, who could ask for more? Over at Saratoga Woods and Waterways. Are they friend or foe? It does...

I like big lamps and i cannot lie. Oh poor, sad craft blog. i'm sorry to say you've once again been sacrificed at the feet of raising these three precious wild littles of mine. and we found out a few months ago that one more is coming! Suddenly, a year has come and gone and so much crafting has been left undocumented. So here i am, sitting during the 30 minute window i have left of naps, blogging on my smart phone. #thisismotherhood. Gotta work on that. Lamp in the house. when we got married, i think...

Faith, Family and Friends: Happy Valentine's Day
http://faithandfamilyandfriends.blogspot.com/2015/02/happy-valentine-day.html
Faith, Family and Friends. Knitting the three most important things in life into one blanket of love. Saturday, February 14, 2015. Hopefully, this post won't come across as pessimistic! Overall, it was a great week. Super husband started a new schedule. It's not ideal, but it's more hours and allows him to see super son when he gets home from school. He's also able to get him started on homework which is a huge help to me! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Small Bathroom - Redesign on a Dime. Emily Bit...

Faith, Family and Friends: Spring is here!
http://faithandfamilyandfriends.blogspot.com/2015/03/spring-is-here.html
Faith, Family and Friends. Knitting the three most important things in life into one blanket of love. Monday, March 30, 2015. Actually spring is struggling to convince itself to be here - we had freezing temperatures over the weekend, but a gorgeous clear blue sky! Super-son is on spring break this week, so he and I have ventured to the beach. It's a sleepy little fishing town which I prefer as I grow older. My parents are here so it's been nice to spend time with them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Faith, Family and Friends. Knitting the three most important things in life into one blanket of love. Saturday, July 11, 2015. 31 Day Clutter Challenge. Recently, I was intrigued by a 31 Day Clutter Challenge hosted by Living Well Spending Less. It started on July 1st and has been really easy to follow. Each morning I receive an email with the target area of the day. It gives guidelines for the space, suggestions on how to organize, and helpful hints on what to keep and what to toss. A bowl full of lemons.

leaf and letter handmade: naked lampshades.
http://leafandletterhandmade.blogspot.com/2013/02/naked-lampshades.html
I've written quite a bit in the past about lampshades. It's not that i'm obsessed with them or anything, i just find it strange that a simple affordable one is so difficult to find. whenever i buy vintage or thrifted lamps. The lampshades that come with them are almost always damaged or terribly out of date. and i'm a firm believer that updating the shade takes the whole lamp from strange goodwill find to chic new-to-me lamp! Stencil a pattern in fabric paint? Start over with some really cute ikat ones.
