A Word on Prayer | A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life

A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life. J Caleb Taylor's Blog. A Word on Prayer. Now I know you guys probably looked at the title of this blog and thought, “Oh great. Another blog on prayer.” And… well you’d be right. So, as you read, keep in mind that this blog isn’t a list of instructions on how to pray. Jesus showed us how to do that in Matthew 6:9-13. This blog is to show/teach you a few things that will help you as you speak to the Lord. 1 Remember WHO you’re speaking to. That prayer is between you and God.

Beauty (Haiti) | A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life

A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life. J Caleb Taylor's Blog. But I simply couldn’t gather the words to write. It was that amazing. So, instead of leaving you all hanging, I have decided to post a bit of free verse poetry that I write late one night while I was in Haiti. Granted, this piece is only a little of my feelings for Haiti and missions itself, but I believe it pretty well describes Haiti in one word for me. So here goes nothing. 8220;Beauty (Haiti)”. But beauty is everywhere. Beauty is more than meet...

Counted the Cost? | A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life
https://jaeseatea.wordpress.com/2014/03/25/counted-the-cost
A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life. J Caleb Taylor's Blog. The Christian faith nowadays has seemed to turn a blind eye to struggle and hardship. It seems that in today’s culture we are obsessed with the prosperity “gospel.” This poor excuse for doctrine gives the false impression that if you follow Jesus or accept Him into your heart, your world will become easier and that your troubles will vanish. I hate to break it to you, but this is not the case. If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father...

Evan C. Nester. Grace And other things. Daily Archives: December 17, 2013. Evan C. Nester. December 17, 2013. I have a really bad habit of walking into Barnes and Noble and buying every. single. book. I see. And if it has the word “grace” anywhere on it, you can bet I’m gonna buy it. Well last week I walked in with the intentions of getting John Maxwell’s. The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership,. And let’s all just be honest here, there was no way I was walking out with just one book. 8220;A huge part of ...

Evan C. Nester. Grace And other things. Daily Archives: January 24, 2014. Evan C. Nester. January 24, 2014. 4 Core Truths About You. Scripture leaves us asking questions at times. I’ll be honest…I’ve left some of my Bible classes with more questions than when I entered. And that’s okay. We won’t be able to answer every single question in this lifetime. But there are 4 core truths that the Bible teaches us about…well….us. And there is no question about each of these. 8220;You watched me as I was being for...

Evan C. Nester. Grace And other things. Evan C. Nester. November 22, 2013. I still remember the first time I got up in front of a crowd to share the Word of God. I was in the 7th grade at Woodlawn Intermediate School. I think it was either a Tuesday or Wednesday morning when our FCA club met. We would meet in Mrs. Webb’s classroom on the 2nd floor. I even remember I was wearing a dark blue button down shirt. My topic of choice: The Second Coming of Christ. Over recent years a hunger has grown in my heart.

Set Apart (We Are DIFFERENT) | A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life
https://jaeseatea.wordpress.com/2013/09/22/set-apart-we-are-different
A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life. J Caleb Taylor's Blog. Set Apart (We Are DIFFERENT). I’m getting really tired of Christians making worldly excuses for their sin. How many times have you rebelled against God’s will, but then said, “Well, actually, it’s not bad for me.” Or, “You know, doctors say it’s healthy,” Or something along those lines? Have you ever stopped to think that it doesn’t matter what this world says? Sin is sin. Plain and simple. And I’m so tired of worldly justification. 8220;Do not con...

A Grace-Given, Giving Grace Life. J Caleb Taylor's Blog. Believing – Doing – Discipline. So many times I’ve heard Christians (including myself) say that they haven’t been in the word enough lately. Have you ever heard/said that? But that aside, I know we’ve all been there (or if you think you haven’t, you may want to do a bit of self-examination). And honestly, I think it’s great that we realize it. The question you might be asking is this: “Why wouldn’t I believe it? 8221; And you’re absolutely ri...
