KP on the AT: November 2012
http://kpontheat.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Map of the Trail. Saturday, November 10, 2012. So last time I updated this was while staying at the Port Clinton Hotel in the middle of July. Unfortunately, my iPhone fell into a rock crevasse on top of the Pinnacle, just after Port Clinton, PA. A lot has happened since then, but most importantly, I completed my thru-hike on September 28th! It was a beautiful day and I got to share it with some of the best people I met on the trail. Map of the Trail. CLICK HERE TO DONATE. After suffering through junior high and high school with chronic, debilitating headaches I was finally diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 19. It had stunted my growth significantly, so much so that as a freshman in college I looked like I could only be 14. What's worse, the tumor was hemorrhaging! Head over to my 'Change Makers' page. At 19 years old. Pre-Surgery with my sister. But I got a gnarly scar out of it! My sickly self after leaving the hospital.

Map of the Trail. Friday, July 13, 2012. Milestones and magic from Port Clinton, PA. So last time I posted I was about to head into the Shenandoahs following two days off to visit with family/recover from a stomach bug. I quickly caught up with my hiking buddies Brooke and John, who informed me that our trio has been dubbed "Les Résistance" due to our lack of trail names. The Shenandoahs were pretty nice, with the good views coming on the north end of the park. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Go That Do There.

Map of the Trail. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Spent today at the NOC, or Nantahala Outdoor Center, resting a sore knee. I seem to have found my legs in Hiawassee, and have been cranking out bigger and bigger miles everyday. It was the perfect fuel to keep hiking in the rain and push up the mountain. To add to the magic, a thru-hiker from last year showed up at the shelter later that night with brownies! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Location: Noc Way,Bryson City,United States. Staying in a Budget...

Map of the Trail. As a way to make this hike useful and worthwhile to someone other than me, I've also set up a fundraising page. For Rainbow Babies and Children's hospital in Cleveland. As many friends visiting this page know, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 19 years old, and had my surgery at Rainbow Babies Children's Hospital. I am incredibly indebted to the hospital and thought if I could help raise any. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). How to Be Happy in 2015. We shall meet in the place.

Map of the Trail. Thursday, June 21, 2012. It's been a long time since I've updated, so I figured I'd condense the last 3 weeks into one post. Anyhow, here are some photos from my last 3 weeks of the trail, with more info where needed. McAffee's Knob, the most photographed spot on the trail. Sunset on Tinker's Cliffs. A foggy Blue Ridge Parkway. FAA tower (I think). The longest footbridge on the AT crosses the James River. June 25, 2012 at 11:13 PM. So happy to hear things are going well! Go That Do There.
