Maiz y Tepescuintle: July 2007
http://maizytepescuintle.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 30, 2007. Beam me up, Scotty". I have come home and it is a fairy tale land. With water that you can drink from the tap, tomatoes that do not have to be desinfected before you eat them and bikes on which you can go anywhere. And no-one stares at you, I am free and I even love the rain. A new one costs a lot of material and a months salary, well in Chiapas. But in Chiapas they would open my camera, and simply try. Poverty makes creative and that is what I most miss. Monday, July 09, 2007.

Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Today I saw a thousand years old `football stadion , where the Zapotecas played. Which was played with an outright religious fervor. Nothing has changed in 2000 years I d say. Posted by Tepescuintle @ 4:59 PM. Oaxaca also means eating delicious mole in the market place, usually prepared with chicken, but for the vegetarian with tortillas and a bit of cheese. I love it! Posted by Tepescuintle @ 4:51 PM. Monday, May 28, 2007. Oaxaca (say Wagaka) means a lot of agave/maguey of which.

Friday, September 21, 2007. View my co...

Tuesday, December 26, 2006. Life is passing rapidly here and I am mostly too busy living it or in places without email for replying all your nice emails. Sorry for that, in January I will make an effort! For now I hope you all had a nice Christmas! Breaking the piñata with the kids, learning how to prepare. Playing chess (thanks soooooooooo much Rafa for teaching me! Eating cocodrilo, listening Radio Insurgente and dancing with musica norteña. But ok to be honest, photos will be a poor medium anyhow to s...

Thursday, August 23, 2007. Http:/ www.cuarto-poder.com.mx/. Http:/ enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx/denuncias/795. Http:/ www.cuarto-poder.com.mx/. Maiz y Tepescuintle: February 2007

Monday, February 26, 2007. One of the things I had already learned a little in England, but have learned a lot more here is: what a direct culture I come from. An Englishman once told me:. If an English friend asks me if I want a cup of tea, I will always answers no at first. The question is then repeated once or twice `Are you sure you don`t want a cup of tea? If a Dutch friend asks me if I want a cup of tea and I answer, no. I will be left without a drink. Is I am looking for somebody . This is an ...

Wednesday, June 27, 2007. La Selva: last episode. After five days of waves, waves and waves, turtles, delphins and pequeñas fiestas. We returned to San Cristobal. Two weeks ago I said goodbye to Michel and Machteld and embarked on my last expedition to La Selva Lacandona. To be sincere I was so afraid to fall ill again, that I already felt short of breath by the pure fear upon mere entering. As the people say here and as there are many more temptations once in the civilisized world? Anyhow, CETAMEX is tr...

Sunday, January 14, 2007. Darwin s night mare/ Don Chebo s dream. I come home shocked and think about Anouk s question of how I take the povery here. This probably is a paternalistic thougt, so be it. I am happy that some of the people share this thought, that they have resisted the government s will to help them by building the road. Maiz y Tepescuintle: November 2006
http://maizytepescuintle.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 30, 2006. Regreso de la selva. We entered the Selva 4 days late, because of the bad weather, but we spend them well in the company of a young farmer by the name of Santiago who later took excellent care of us in his village Amador-Hernandez. I thus started my investigation early with my talks to him and that was a good thing, because in the communidades I often was too tired to ask all that I wanted to ask. But what an experience it has been! How to diagnose the cow, by looking at the ...
