Home of romance author Jennie Andrus. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Compared to usual, it wasn't a crazy, chaotic Christmas. We didn't have to cram all our visiting into one day, and managed to get it all done without having to post pone anything due to illnesses. (One year we didn't see my grandparents until February.) Both of our days of traveling were capped by really treacherous drives home (finally got the damn snow the kids had been asking for). I had set only a few Christmas goals this year -.

This will be the third story in the Tiara Islands Inn series, and for this one, I went back to Julie and Noah, the characters from Jewel of the Highlands. Back to work. I've been reading fan fiction, and doing other pointless things. I have found some cool ways to procrastinate though. Delicious Library - a mac platform inventory software that lets you use your iSight (or other web cam) as a UPC code scanner. Very cool and soooo much fun. I've been scanning books, movies, and video games.

I know a lot of adults have read series like Twilight (I haven't yet.I can't get past Bella's woe-is-me attitude) but I was wondering if there were any "teen" that people would recommend. Our bookstore has a big teen section. By comparison, they don't have much as far as mysteries or adult romance and their sci-fi/fantasy section? So please, if you have read some good books generally considered to be teen reads, let me know.

Monday, January 23, 2012. Blood Bonds has a cover! I've very excited about this. I love sci-fi covers. Throw a planet on a cover and even if the rest of it is "blah" I'd still love it. I think this one works really well for the story.and if you look under the BL in Blood, you'll see the phallic sort of shape of a space station LOL At least that's what it looked like to me. Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Why I hate NaNoWriMo. I love the idea, and okay yes I participate every year in the chaos that is NanoWriMo, but I have to admit, I kind of wish I didn't. It's kind of stressful, and I'm not a really competitive person, so all it does is get me anxious, which doesn't help get the creative juices flowing. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. One Day at a Time. It's been over a year since my epic laziness ended with me losing almost all my unfinished stories. I don't think I've written more than 1000 words in that time. It's a daunting prospect, trying to basically start from scratch. It's been 2 years since I submitted a story, and in that time, publishers have closed, others have changed their policies and again, it seems like I'm starting out all over again trying to find my footing. Risotto with leeks, shiitake mushrooms, and parmesan. June 23, 2009. I really enjoy risotto but I’ve never had one that completely knocked my socks off. Before last night, the closest I’d come to risotto nirvana is the delectably creamy butternut squash risotto at the fabulous Chester’s Chophouse. In Wichita (fine dining in Wichita? I fed 5 people this risotto alongside parmesan-crusted lemon chicken breasts. Everyone loved it! 3/4 cup whipping cream. 1 large onion, halved, thinly sliced lengthwise.

I just simply decided not to be important to anyone and not to make anyone too important to me, because when you're too close to someone, you'll expect more.
