AnotherJennifer: Rust Dyeing
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2013/07/rust-dyeing.html
Thursday, July 4, 2013. Time to try something new. It seems a little whack-a-doo but that never stops me from trying something. In fact, it kinda makes it more tempting, doesn't it? The idea is pretty simple. You take some metal that will rust and put it on or wrap it in some fabric. Get them wet to encourage rusting. We added vinegar to some of the pieces and salt water to others to see which would encourage rusting better. Bottle caps on a linen sleeve that is resting on a grate. I have never tried thi...

AnotherJennifer: September 2011
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. I went out to the country to visit friends for a fun day of sewing. Women and kids just hanging out and playing with cloth and thread. It was a great group of people and a beautiful Wisconsin fall day. We used to be pants! It was a long drive as I got myself lost about three times on the way there. I tend to get distracted by the fall colors this time of year. We've had so many cloudy, grey days that one bright day dazzled me! To get done. I'm so glad I started in on a cri...

AnotherJennifer: Left Alone With the Dye Vat
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2013/07/left-alone-with-dye-vat.html
Friday, July 26, 2013. Left Alone With the Dye Vat. It all started out so innocently. We had all this indigo left over from our dyeing day and thought we'd knock some more out. We were deep into experiment mode. A little of this. A little of that. Everything looked so awesome! I'm starting to appreciate the hippy dippy tie dye look that really, as a Madison resident, I should like already. Cuz it's dang pretty. Dang Pretty. I mean that's just beautiful. This shirt was looking very faded and worn. Also, a...

AnotherJennifer: January 2011
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 19, 2011. On the one hand. Here it is, early into the hand sewing part. Notice how close together the stitches are. Much further apart at the end. This is the very last bit of hand stitching that I did on it. I thought that adding the pocket and belt loop would look really cool as part of the binding but was a huge pain to hand sew. Live and learn. Done and done. One the other hand, it's time to move on to. Seven full bins.that are visible. Here's what I'm throwing away. Plus- again- I...

AnotherJennifer: October 2011
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 23, 2011. Almost every morning I take an hour or so to drink my coffee and look at my favorite blogs to get some inspiration and catch up with the virtual world. I follow friends' blogs about their lives and families, a scientific illustration blog, and way too many craft blogs. And then there's pinterest. Which I just started using and am really enjoying. I had planned a day of working on my denim square quilt when I ran across a picture of pojagi. And they went horribly orange and - eve...

AnotherJennifer: Quilt me
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2013/06/quilt-me.html
Monday, June 10, 2013. Wouldn't I make a lovely quilt? The fabric quietly whispered to me,"quiiiilt meeeee". I said, slightly deafened from all that Joan Jett back in the 80's. I'd be delightful. Linen quilt.indigo dye.hint, hint". QUILT ME YOU FREAKIN" IDIOT! Oh, hey. Good idea. Speak up next time, I don't hear subtle hints. Sheesh.". Posted by Jennifer Falkowski @ 2:49 PM. At June 10, 2013 at 6:42 PM. The linen has spoken. You know what to do. At June 10, 2013 at 7:08 PM. I hear and I obey.

AnotherJennifer: Jennifer Napkins
http://anotherjennifermakingstuff.blogspot.com/2013/06/jennifer-napkins.html
Thursday, June 13, 2013. I decided to sew napkins yesterday. I figured they needed the largest bit of uninterrupted fabric. Everything else that I'm itching to make (quilts, bags, journal covers) can be put together with scraps. I guess napkins could too but they I think the fewer seams they have the better. They were already folded up in the napkin basket when I took these pictures. That's why they're all wrinkly. I made five napkins. Once I settled on what to make, it went pretty fast. We really like u...
