Wednesday, September 20, 2006. For the Love of Reading. Last weekend, while running errands, I made a sudden, quick turn onto Aberdeen instead of continuing on Beechnut. (I tend to make a lot of "quick turns"- just ask Hubby). In that split second, I had decided to check out the city library for some interesting reads. (and you thought I was exciting ;-).). Thursday, June 29, 2006. I'm headed out to Atlanta after work today! I'm very happy. I'll be gone until July 9, so please don't expect me to be blogging much, if at all, until then. Oh, I donated blood today. My arm still hurts, but it was worth it I think. Hopefully they put it to good use! Hmmm, I guess that's all I can think of saying. Once again, have a great 4th! Monday, September 25, 2006. Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Last week Hubby and I went downtown to Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros take on the St. Louis Cardinals. It was such a great game. The Astros came back in the bottom of the 8th to be up 6-5, and they held them through the 9th. The cannons went off, the train blew its horn (Does any Houstonian know what the meaning of the train is? And the fireworks popped. It was such a fantastic time. Posted by Beth @ 5:47 PM. Thursday, October 19, 2006. I've definitely been out of it lately. So many things going on and so little time. Here's a quick summary:. I got contacts (to be precise, a contact)! When my eye insurance plan kicked in in September, I hiked on over to my doctor to get it! I was so nervous at first, and I think it took me a half hour or so to finally get that stupid thing in, but I finally did it. Now I have no problem with it. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Last Christmas my work held a Christmas wreath decorating contest- this year I thought I'd participate. I hadn't done wreaths before, but I figured, since I did my flowers in my wedding, it can't be that hard. I think it came our really well. Friday, December 29, 2006. She's the newest addition to our family! Her name is Lucy, and we adopted her today after work. Isn't she sweet? Hubby and I have been talking about getting a pet for awhile. We decided to wait until all the Christmas bustle was over, with all the traveling we did it would have been too hard to try to adopt a pet. Here she is looking all prim and proper. She seems to be a very sweet cat- very willing to let us hold her and play with her. Look how teeny she is!
