http://new-everymorning.blogspot.com/2015/01/butternut-squash-soup.html
Wednesday, January 14, 2015. It's been cold lately, and all I want to cook is soup. This is a delicious butternut squash soup, changed up ever so slightly from my favorite Soup of the Day. Sweetly Savory Butternut Squash Soup. 2 butternut squashes (about 4 lbs) halved, seeded, peeled, cut in 2" chunks. 1 lb apples, peeled cored and quartered. 1 leek, white and light green parts only, rinsed well and sliced thick. 5 garlic cloves, peeled. 2 Tbsp chopped sage, plus more for garnish. 2 tsp ground cumin.

new every morning: Day 12: Favorite seven year old
http://new-everymorning.blogspot.com/2014/10/day-12-favorite-seven-year-old.html
Sunday, October 12, 2014. Day 12: Favorite seven year old. Today, my baby girl turns seven. Madeleine brings us joy and laughter every single day. She is spunky, sweet, thoughtful, and sincere. She loves anything sparkly, reading, and playing with friends outside. And she thinks breakfast in bed is the best thing ever. She is most definitely the baby of our family, and we all adore her. Happy 7th Birthday Sweet Madeleine! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 13: Favorite Seasonal Candy.

new every morning: Day 7: A character I've grown up with
http://new-everymorning.blogspot.com/2014/10/day-7-character-ive-grown-up-with.html
Tuesday, October 07, 2014. Day 7: A character I've grown up with. I don't remember how old I was when I first met Anne Shirley. But I quickly realized that she was a kindred spirit…though I never knew the term until I met her. I think I probably first read Anne of Green Gables. My picture of Anne is a cross between Megan Follows' on-screen portrayal of my favorite character and the drawings of Anne on the covers of my copies of Anne of Avonlea. And Anne of Windy Poplar. Before long, I had read all eight ...

new every morning: Day 9: A favorite moment remembered
http://new-everymorning.blogspot.com/2014/10/day-9-favorite-moment-remembered.html
Thursday, October 09, 2014. Day 9: A favorite moment remembered. I imagine I'm a lot like many of you. I have a great idea for a family photo, and I can't wait to make it happen. A few years ago, I saw several cute shots taken from above of families lying in lush grass. So back in the summer of 2011, my extended family was together at the beach…taking a few large family shots on one of our final nights all together. And there was this great grass. But maybe my favorite one now? And Brent and I are just l...

Monday, October 13, 2014. Day 13: Favorite Seasonal Candy. For the most part, candy isn't very tempting to me. I love dark chocolate, Jelly Belly jelly beans…and the occasional Snickers bars…but when it comes to most candies, I pass. Peeps, Cadbury Eggs, gumdrops…I avoid them. But there is one seasonal candy that I love: candy corn. Now, I'll enjoy Brach's candy corn any day…but a few years ago, I was introduced to Jelly Belly candy corn. I was a little skeptical, but when I tried it? One of my favorite ...

Friday, January 31, 2014. Fresh local produce and using my new Vitamix a LOT. Record low temps=a cold house and warm treats. This month, my kiddos fell in love with reading independently. So excited for them! I want to remember how he fits under the table to sweep. And how there are bands everywhere. A last-minute trip to the beach to see Mimi and Grampa was a perfect January diversion. Charleston food. Yum. 50 degrees at the beach is still 50 degrees. Brrr. This pelican posed just for me. :). Also Isn't...

new every morning: February 2014
http://new-everymorning.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 06, 2014. I'm linking up with Stephanie's Blog Your Heart challenge! So this happened yesterday. It's not her first lost tooth. It's number three. (Though you might have guessed it was number one by her squeal as she ran downstairs to show me.). It's number three, but my eyes filled with tears just like they did when that first bottom one became wiggly. But when I see her smile, I always see them all, woven together. A smile that has become. Labels: blog your heart. I grew quite excite...
