No Indictment is outrageous, even if Wilson is innocent | Mustard to Mission
https://mustardtomission.wordpress.com/2014/11/26/no-indictment-is-outrageous-even-if-wilson-is-innocent
Thoughts from the Journey. No Indictment is outrageous, even if Wilson is innocent. November 26, 2014. November 29, 2014. No Indictment. The announcement broke the suspense, if not the tension. 108 days after Michael Brown was killed by Darren Wilson, St. Louis Prosecutor Bob McCulloch announced that the grand jury had determined that there was no probable cause to indict Officer Wilson in the August 9th death on Canfield Drive. What’s the purpose of a Probable Cause Hearing? If this were treated as a no...

50 Years Later: Reflections on March on Washington. Asymp; Leave a comment. Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. Yesterday, Presidents Obama, Clinton, and Carter spoke. Rev. Bernice King, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s daughter, spoke. Congressman John Lewis, the only living speaker from the 1963 March, spoke. I heard about an hour of the program on the radio and was both inspired and moved to tears. I would respectfully challenge anyone. Today We Remember. Do We Still Dream? At the ...

https://wildwisteria.wordpress.com/2013/05/07/while-my-thoughts-are-percolating-read-this
While my thoughts are percolating, read this. The Church and liturgy. Asymp; Leave a comment. Lot is brewing in my mind these days, a few days after my first semester of seminary ended. My writing–both blogs and fiction–suffered this semester but I loved all the reading, writing, thinking, discussing theology, the New Testament, women in the history of American religion, and St. Anselm’s proof on the existence of God (well, maybe not that last one so much…). By Wendy (and read all the comments on both).

8220;The Post-Cynical Christian” by Jim Wallis. Asymp; Leave a comment. For a few weeks, I’ve been taking myself off one of my chronic daily headache medicines to see how much effect the medicine has and how much is my body addicted to it. It’s been a pretty difficult few weeks with trouble sleeping, more neck and shoulder pain, increased headaches, and stomach problems. And mood changes. And the Daily Office lectionary readings this week have been about judgment (for Eli’s blaspheming sons, the en...

Maundy Thursday: Doubt and faith’s “earnest quest for God”. Asymp; 4 Comments. The last two months I’ve been presented by questions of what makes one a Christian and what constitutes Christian faith in ways I’ve never before experienced. In popular conception, John Calvin is not a sympathetic character. Yet, reading his. Institutes of the Christian Religion. Deny and reject Jesus. We too, often assert great faith, yet days, hours, later we run, deny, turn away, again and again. For unbelief is so deeply ...

The Olympic $pirit | Wild Wisteria

Asymp; 2 Comments. I love the Olympics. There’s something wonderful about athletes from every country, coming together to compete as equals Except, perhaps some athletes are, in George Orwell’s phrase, more equal than others. When you look past the hard training, grit, determination, and will to win, the difference between a place on the rostrum and mere anonymity often comes down to cold hard cash. Britain loves indoor cycling…’cause we’re good at it! From The Guardian, photo by Clive Rose/Getty Images.
