http://addisonkay.blogspot.com/2011/04/grrr.html
Smile At Your Future. Created to keep you posted on what's happening with us! Saturday, April 09, 2011. The "strong man" post I just did is bothering me. I had spaces between paragraphs that will not show up. I'm not sure what's wrong. But.they were thoughts I needed to write, so you, the reader, have to deal with the one large paragraph (unless blogger decides to put all the spaces in). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Smile At Your Future. Created to keep you posted on what's happening with us! Friday, December 26, 2008. If there is anyone out there still checking our blog, here is a new post just for you! We have been spoiled with presents. And we still have one more day of Christmas gatherings tomorrow. I already filled 3 bags with some "outgoing" toys in order to make room for the new stuff (just don't tell the kids). :). Addison is maturing more every day. She talks so well. We just switched our TV and int...

Charlie Brown's Teacher: October 2013
http://charliebrownteacher.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 3, 2013. Once in a while, I go a month where I just can't manage to finish a blog. That month was July. No big deal. August was NOT funny, witty, or encouraging. I'm not even sure that I LEARNED anything the entire month. On a destructive path that would bring wonderful learning opportunities soon. Sidenote to my sidenote:. Anywho, I walked around most of the month feeling heavy. For once I'm not talking about the scale! It was as if someone was sitting on my soul. Comfort eating did mo...

Charlie Brown's Teacher: February 2013
http://charliebrownteacher.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Genesis 4 - The Story of Cain and Abel (A Sunday School Discussion). Our friend, Nathan, brought up two famous Biblical brothers, Cain and Abel. Abel sacrificed a perfect, fat calf on the alter to God; and Cain offered some crops from the fields he had been working. They both were seeking and worshiping God. Abel's sacrifice pleased God. Instead, He focused on Cain's reaction. God was ready to have a loving, fatherly, teaching moment with Cain. Why is your face downcast?

Charlie Brown's Teacher: Guy Emotions
http://charliebrownteacher.blogspot.com/2014/10/guy-emotions.html
Thursday, October 2, 2014. Fellow Mother-of-boys, Rhonda Schrock. Wrote a blog post. In which she asked for a translator. She was searching for any avenue to better understand the alien men with whom she lives. As she wrote, she marveled, " Imagine if a burp said, 'That was a fabulous meal. You are a queen among women, and your knack with a skillet is unrivaled.'". Well, Rhonda, you may be on to something! Her blog got me thinking about a conversation I had with my own. To get out. Problematically, t...

Charlie Brown's Teacher: Really? Creative Writing
http://charliebrownteacher.blogspot.com/2014/01/really-creative-writing.html
Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Explosions, guns, hunting, blood, and underwear. These are the main subject matter in our homeschool writing club comprised solely of young boys. What would our children write about if they went to public school? I have no idea, but I'm SURE they would be expelled for reading THESE stories," replied my cohort in writing club crime. Tis true. We are raising creative writing delinquents. The thing is: my fifth and seventh graders are learning to ENJOY the written word. If they bec...

Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat,. He said to them,. 8220;Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”. Charlie Brown's Teacher: November 2013
http://charliebrownteacher.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 4, 2013. A Road Rally Bar Mitzvah. Yep, we had a bar mitzvah. Nope, we aren't Jewish. Clay has been referring to Micah's 13th birthday party as his bar mitzvah for the past 6 months. So when it got closer to the actual day, I started researching this Jewish 13th birthday tradition. What a great opportunity to challenge our son AND celebrate at the same time! Here are some photos (and pdfs) of our Road Rally paperwork. My kids have already done it. I probably won't use it again. Even if y...
