A Good Book is a Good Friend: August 2011
http://agoodbookisagoodfriend.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A Good Book is a Good Friend. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Tried a new author and loved it! A friend recently told me about an author she has enjoyed reading and a specific series of hers that she has enjoyed. Francine Rivers, the author, has written a series of books based on the lives of women in the Bible. I just finished reading the one she wrote on the life of Mary , the mother of Jesus. It's titled, Unafraid. And it is AMAZING! I would recommend it for older teens-adults! Posted by Jennifer Bailey.

A Good Book is a Good Friend. Monday, June 25, 2012. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE historical fiction, especially historical fiction that is set during the Revolutionary War days. On my bucket list of things to do in my lifetime is to write a children's book set during the Revolution. We shall see! I just recently read these two books, Silver for General Washington. And By Wagon and Flatboat. Written by Enid LaMonte Meadowcroft. They are amazing books! And Mr. Revere and I. Are two books written by Robert Lawson....

Ever feel like life is just complicated sometimes and you need some type of small retreat? Of course you do! Pick up a book and get lost in it! Their characters are also some of my favorite people! I cry every time Daddy comes home in E. Nesbit's, The Railway Children. I get a sense of excitement every time I read, The Chestry Oak. Then I dare say yo...

A Good Book is a Good Friend. Friday, March 2, 2012. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Happy Birthday today to one of the greatest children's authors of all time, Dr. Seuss! I studied his life for a Children's Literature class I taught last year and was excited to learn how he got his start as such a great writer! Several of his most popular books are written in this format. He later admitted that these were some of the hardest books for him to write. I hope you enjoy Dr. Seuss as much as most of the world ...

A Good Book is a Good Friend: Superman and Librarians
http://agoodbookisagoodfriend.blogspot.com/2013/06/you-know-how-in-old-superman-shows-when.html
A Good Book is a Good Friend. Wednesday, June 12, 2013. You know how in the old Superman shows, when Clark Kent would get that certain look in his eye and his demeanor would change, you knew pretty soon he was going to disappear and mysteriously Superman would be on the scene? No matter how hard I try, and I do try, as soon as the inner librarian is triggered in me, I cannot stop it. It would be just as easy to stop it as it would to stop Clark Kent from becoming Superman. I wanted to yell, ' Boo! Instea...

http://agoodbookisagoodfriend.blogspot.com/2012/06/its-never-too-late.html
A Good Book is a Good Friend. Monday, June 4, 2012. It's Never Too Late. I recently had one of my Sunday school teachers from when I was in HS tell me that I had inspired her to become a reader. She had never been a reader. She very excitedly told me all the classics she has been reading and how much she has enjoyed it. Even though she is older, I'm going to guess maybe in her 60's, she is acquiring a love for reading! It is never too late! It's NEVER too late! It is NEVER too late! I am a very happily m...
