http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 21, 2009. So life is pretty much back to normal these days: Hubbys tongue has. Healed completely; Im working hard in the lab as deadlines rapidly. Approach. We didnt get the T-R01 that I had mentioned a while. Back, so funding continues to be precarious. I would be significantly. More upset by that news (utterly crushed, really) if we were still. Planning on having a baby as soon as the funding comes through. As it. Stands now, with nothing more than reliable funding for my project at. Too b...

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: September 2009
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 7, 2009. So Ive been thinking about the baby thing again lately. Im. Driving Hubby absolutely nuts with all of my indecision, so he says. Its up to me, just let him know when Ive decided its time. I. Really want it to be now, and Ive pretty much decided we can make the. Daycare thing work out one way or another. Weve got some credit card. Debt that, if paid off, would free up a few hundred dollars a month. Weve got staggered schedules, mine is very flexible, and I could. Been here the l...

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: Monday morning dread
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2013/12/monday-morning-dread.html
Monday, December 9, 2013. I even tried Hemingway's advice to "write drunk; edit sober" a couple of days last week.that's how I managed the 450 words I did get drafted. So not only am I ashamed of this lack of progress, I'm also doubting whether I'll be able to finish the rest of my dissertation by the late-January deadline. Hence, my desire to hide under the covers and stay in denial and avoidance mode. :-(. March 11, 2014 at 7:26 PM. ADHD has been my foe, also! And I am avoiding my supervisor like crazy!

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: May 2009
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 11, 2009. What a shitty mothers' day. I really thought I had the finances figured out. I was convinced we were doing well, ahead of the game, and that we would be able to afford a baby, particularly the high cost of full-time daycare, with minimal scrimping. Hubby didn't believe me, so I set out to produce a budget spreadsheet that would prove it. I want a baby now! I already put it on hold for a year for Hubby's master's degree, and I'm sick of waiting! How does anyone do this?

Wednesday, August 12, 2009. An anonymous commenter expressed interest in my work-life balance advocacy group. So, here's the history, current status, and future plans and goals of the work-life balance advocacy group at Excellent U:. For graduate students at Excellent U. Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: October 2009
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. So, we've decided. Were trying to get pregnant. No, the lab didnt get any new funding,. And no, Hubby and I havent received raises. So what has changed,. Well, two major things changed: (1) Hubby got a promotion,. Which is not only a great step along his desired career path, but it. Also switches him from a night shift schedule with rotating days off. To a schedule of regular work hours and regular work days with. Stress at the lab, so theres no point waiting for things to calm.

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: July 2010
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 7, 2010. 32 weeks, 5 days. So with all that taken care of and a couple more people to take up on their offers of hand-me-downs, I think we're pretty set for gear and clothes. Time to start stocking up on diapers and wipes, I guess. I completely forgot to mention a very important point! My project (and in fact, the whole lab) is now completely funded! We got both R-01s renewed, plus I had that other foundation grant I mentioned last fall, so we're all covered now. Whoohoo! Life as I know it.
