Banishing Writer's Block: July 2014
http://banishingwritersblock.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
My random musings, observations and reflections while I procrastinate from writing the next Great Australian Novel. Thursday, July 24, 2014. There's nothing like a decent foggy morning to head out with the camera, have taken some of my favourite shots at such times. Hilltops appear as islands, the contours of the landscape resemble a coastline as the relentless white sea ebbs and flows. The footprints of some small animal returning home after his nightly outing, followed by those of the early morning gol...

Banishing Writer's Block: September 2014
http://banishingwritersblock.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
My random musings, observations and reflections while I procrastinate from writing the next Great Australian Novel. Thursday, September 4, 2014. Here is my tale of woe. What a week. Getting up each morning has been like waking the dead. The faint sounds of the drum. Could be heard as Charlie’s Angels. Hovered overhead, waiting for the dead to be brought out. When I’d rather be wild at heart. Sitting around the campfire. As I tour the world. I was instead bushwhacked. The mirror could not lie…. Flashing b...

Banishing Writer's Block: January 2014
http://banishingwritersblock.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
My random musings, observations and reflections while I procrastinate from writing the next Great Australian Novel. Wednesday, January 15, 2014. My pre dawn walk this morning capped off an interesting few days in terms of interactions with wildlife. After the past few days of heatwave and tossing and turning all night, heading out the door in the cool morning air seemed like the best tonic. In the interests of not offending anyone, I decided to resist displaying photographic evidence of my discovery!

My random musings, observations and reflections while I procrastinate from writing the next Great Australian Novel. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Playing with Words and Pictures. Our Artist’s Way group is working through Julia Cameron’s book Vein of Gold – A Journey to your Creative Heart,. And one of our tasks a while back was to create a collage, our very own treasure map. Because images speak directly to the subconscious mind, they are a very potent form of wishing. From my visual diary. Gardening metaphors...

Living by Faith | Faith Reflections

So who is Matt Garvin? When Leeanne and I were married we had Matthew 6:33 engraved on our wedding rings along with the date (I would recommend having your wedding date engraved on your wedding rings – it has proved invaluable on the odd occasion I have forgotten). But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. The “these things” Jesus is talking about are food, clothes etc. ie stuff. Charge. To seek first the Kingdom of God is to. It is a challenging...

My Dad | Faith Reflections
https://mattgarv.wordpress.com/my-dad
So who is Matt Garvin? I know it’s a bit unusual to have a page about your father on a blog like this, however in order to understand why I would be on the path I am you need to know about my Dad. In Australia my Dad is very well-known in Christian and other circles as a radio broadcaster. speaker and the founder of Fusion. As long as I can remember he has been working to change the world, which made for an interesting childhood. My life wouldn’t be the same either and I’m very grateful! On May 21, 2010.

Eyes of a child | Faith Reflections

So who is Matt Garvin? Posted by: Matt Garvin. June 1, 2010. Eyes of a child. Looking through the eyes of innocence. In my last post I was talking about being like a child and it reminded me of something. My mate, Dave Hammond. Used to be a musician. He released three albums. My favourite song he wrote was eyes of a child . I sent Leeanne hunting through the cupboards for a copy of the tape, and she found it! Eyes of a child. I look into the eyes of innocence each day. You can see a new reality. So if yo...

Being a kid | Faith Reflections

So who is Matt Garvin? Posted by: Matt Garvin. May 31, 2010. Sometimes I skip and dance. I don’t tell a lot of people about the skipping and dancing. When I think no-one is watching, or if I’m feeling fairly comfortable, or beyond caring, my feet start to move. A friend in Victoria who I used to work with, Fiona, used to say Matt must be tired when I started to bust a move in the office. I love those moments of spontaneity. It reminds me of one of my favourite passages from the bible:. Josiah is full on ...
