Me too! Me too!: October 2006
http://me-too-me-too.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Got new curtains. Ta-tas are safely hidden from public view. I managed to watch one of those DVDs before I took them back. It was François Truffaut's "The 400 Blows," and it was, surprise surprise, a MALE COMING-OF-AGE story. Noooo not again! I'm so sick of adolescent boys! Well duh what should I have expected from a French New Wave movie. And I'm sorry, I know it's a legendary film and everything, but it was boring. Isn't that often the case? Posted by Holly @ 7:14 PM. Last we...

I Suppose.....

Monday, June 22, 2009. My yes, it's been almost a complete year since I've done anything with this blog. What can I say? It's been an interesting year. Failed relationships, a bout with depression, a near nervous break-down, (not in that order), a speeding ticket, bounced checks, all great times. K, maybe not great, but interesting. So I am going to try this again, I don't have Internet. Access at home still (Hurrah for renting a place that's too expensive for me! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Very Special Monkeys: You're not perfect, and neither is your brain
http://veryspecialmonkeys.blogspot.com/2008/03/youre-not-perfect-and-neither-is-your.html
Tuesday, March 4, 2008. You're not perfect, and neither is your brain. First, let me apologize for my recent absence. I have been having problems with my internet connection, and realizing just how lost and disconnected I feel without it. The plus side of my internet-less-ness is that I have been able to read books at an even faster pace than usual. (By the way, I found a new favorite fictional writer, Haruki Murakami. By Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson. Our brains deceive us pretty frequently. The more ...

Me too! Me too!: November 2006
http://me-too-me-too.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 26, 2006. We'll Lead as Two Kings. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Did you know that, despite my generally sunny and silly disposition, I am a big fan of post-apocalyptic, dystopian literature? 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, I LOVE all that stuff! It's so scary, and depressing, and likely to come true! Is this guy out of his fucking mind? Am I the only one who thinks this is an absolutely horrible idea? Has he never seen the Matrix? Posted by Holly @ 6:49 PM. Visiting Ka...

Very Special Monkeys: Raising California: The rights of a parent
http://veryspecialmonkeys.blogspot.com/2008/03/raising-california-rights-of-parent.html
Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Raising California: The rights of a parent. When I wrote about the private Kansas school. That would not allow a woman to ref their basketball game, I went on a brief rant about a parent's supposed right to teach their children whatever they want. I promised a more in-depth look at this issue, and here it is. Or the L.A. Times. I want to have control over what goes in my son's head, not what's put in there by people who might be on the far left who have their own ideas about in...

Very Special Monkeys: February 2008
http://veryspecialmonkeys.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 25, 2008. Lessons of parenthood (part 1). In the past month, James Dillon has learned how to get up on all fours, drink out of a cup, eat chunks of food, and lure cats into his grasp, just to name a few of his newfound talents. The point is that, as a baby, he is rapidly developing new skills, discovering new things and becoming more aware of the world around him. Imagine if babies just decided, "You know what? I almost literally get sick to my stomach every time I hear someone say that ...

Very Special Monkeys: My conversation with God
http://veryspecialmonkeys.blogspot.com/2008/03/my-conversation-with-god.html
Thursday, March 6, 2008. My conversation with God. ME (coming to in a haze): Holy shit, am I dead? God: You’re not dead. I just needed to talk to you. ME: Who the fuck are you? God: I’m God. God: Yes, you were wrong. I exist. ME: Oh, fuck me. How is this possible? There’s no way…. God: Look, I’m not here to convince you that I exist. I’m sitting right in front of you, so that should do the trick. ME: I must be dreaming…. ME: Wow, I’m not dreaming. You’re real. ME: What kind of things? ME: Who, me? You hu...

Me too! Me too!: January 2007
http://me-too-me-too.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 21, 2007. How come tri-cornered hats are so hot? I know they are NOW, what with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom swashbuckling away, but I have always thought they were oddly appealing, even when I knew them only from Revolutionary War illustrations and "Amadeus," neither of which feature any hotties. So why do I keep hoping someone on Project Runway will bring back the knee-length knickers/tri-cornered hat look? Sigh* I can only dream. Posted by Holly @ 4:28 PM. Sunday, January 07, 2007.
