Just so Parenting: December 2011

Friday, December 16, 2011. Inspired by Soule Mama. Hanging with Big Papa. Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Nearly had a heart attack. Got knocked to the ground. Today I am grateful. That the guy behind us knew how to swerve. That I didn't get put behind bars or see more of that inmate that was wearing only a towel. That I didn't get hurt (more than turf burn). Today I learned that. Sometimes it is safer to run the yellow (especially when the guy behind you is tailgating and pulling four cords. Sunday, Decembe...

Scurvy Elephant Farm: The Geese
http://scurvyelephantfarm.blogspot.com/p/the-geese.html
Where being a disturbing element becomes an art. Thanks to the addition of two Buff and one Emden donated by our son Anthony, we now have geese! Bonnie and Clyde are the Buffs and Uncle Elvis is the Emden. Elvis quickly had "Uncle" added to his name because he adopts any new babies that are added to the poultry yard (chickens, ducks, geese, breed does not matter) and he watches over them and protects them. Bonnie started laying in the spring. With the help of an incubator, our flock expanded. When we sta...

Where being a disturbing element becomes an art. The new garden is all raised beds. Established December 2013. These were the gardens at the old farm. It was very hard to leave them behind! The photos that follow are the evolution of the garden and herb beds since spring as well as some of the bounty it has provided. I have been able to all but server ties with the local grocery store thanks to its bounty, bartering with friends and our own meat supply. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Radical Rolling Pin.

Where being a disturbing element becomes an art. Wednesday, May 7, 2014. The wonder that is Cutting Celery and other perennials in the garden . I love to cook with celery, I always have. It adds that little something to almost everything. It is also considered a negative calorie food, meaning you burn more calories eating it than it contains. What is not to love about that? This mornings initial dehydrator offering. What perennial herbs or veggies are you growing? Wednesday, May 07, 2014. Wayne Dyer tell...
