Thursday, March 6, 2014. Getting Ready for Spring. With the relentless winter this year, trying to think of spring flowers has been difficult. In order to get my macro, flower photography eye 'tuned up', I have taken in the lovely Cleveland Rockefeller Greenhouse the last few weeks. The beautiful flowers and warmer indoor setting has help me to exercise my macro photography gear and hopefully be ready in a few weeks as the spring wild flower season will be starting. Monday, June 24, 2013. Summer has officially arrived and with the turning of the season, the summer wild flowers are starting out. One of the newer restoration areas in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a wetland area. The national park has reclaimed this area over the last 4 or so years and the huge amounts of wild flowers in bloom speaks volumes. The above image was captured on a foggy morning last week. Shared Earth – the ancient mounds project. November 30, 2014. The work is installed as a timeline that starts with the Lower Jackson Mound (built around 3900-3600 BC) through Poverty Point (1700-1100 BC) and ending with the Pargoud Mound (built around AD 1100-1540.). Some of the photos include artifacts or archaeological drawings. Most of the emphasis of the exhibit is on Poverty Point in celebration of its recent inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
