Teaching in Guate: November 2011

http://www.jennyinguate.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Happy Thanksgiving to you, long-suffering readers of my blog. I'm not sure this webpage has really deserved the title of "blog" as it is more like a monthly periodical, one which you have ceased to pay for and now use for decoupage or something like that. On the weekends, Heather and I try to see as much as we can and enjoy the company of our new friends. Here is a picture of us with Andrea at her flamenco dancing recital. Flamenco is such an interesting dance. Some routines are choreographed, but th...

Teaching in Guate: Horatio Spafford

http://www.jennyinguate.blogspot.com/2011/09/horatio-spafford.html

I was very encouraged by the hymn "It is Well" tonight at church. And subsequently inspired to share with you the story of its author, Horatio Spafford. Check out his story here: http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horatio Spafford. It has been a difficult transition, with misunderstandings at work and feeling limited by the precarious situation in Guatemala. I often wonder (as most of us do) what God's plan is for me here. Regardless, it is well:). September 11, 2011 at 10:08 PM. September 12, 2011 at 10:28 AM.

Teaching in Guate: Catching Up

http://www.jennyinguate.blogspot.com/2012/02/catching-up.html

I have a list of "things to blog about" on my desktop that I've been keeping since October. It's since gotten out of control. I have things written on there like "awkward car ride music" and "Livingston adventure" and "my life is like a Super Mario game" but I just haven't made the time. Here is another fledgling attempt to salvage this blog:. Although we were supposed to form a human chain from the top of the volcano to the base, what actually transpired was a rag-taggle mess of Chapins and gringos bump...

Josh and Leah's Korean Adventures: June 2012

http://thebrownsinkorea.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 29, 2012. I haven't had too many cravings since I've been pregnant. And, I'm not even sure if they are really cravings, or just an excuse to eat what I want. Ha! When I was first pregnant I ate a lot of strawberries. I went through a stage where all I wanted was macaroni and cheese for lunch. When I was feeling nausious I ate lots of pho because it was easy on my tummy. Currently I'm not really wanting anything specific, but I do eat a lot. I'm always hungry! Here is my pregnancy motto: Haha!

Monday, March 5, 2012. Last Days at BIS. It's crazy to think that my time at BIS is over. My contract was a total of 15 months and at times that felt like forever! The kids had lots of fun at graduation and it was really special to see them get their kindergarten diplomas after teaching them for so long. (In Korea kindergarten lasts two years). Here are some fun pictures from my last few days:. My sweet "flowers" made from the kids handprints. The most important thing Joshua learned from me over 15 month...

Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Happy Halloween from our sweet little pumpkin. C is for Cooper! Someone wasn't loving the photo shoot as much as I was. Look at all this candy! Our little giraffe had a fun Halloween opening the door and handing out candy to all the trick or treaters. Coopers face in this one just cracks me up. "Mom? Tuesday, June 22, 2010. 72 Hours of Daylight. So apparently I'm a Bachelorette fan now. I watched an episode with the roommates and now I'm hooked. Embarrassing I know. But last night's episode took place in ICELAND! So between all the weather warnings for tornados in the Milwaukee area, I got to relive my little trip to Iceland with Katie. Saturday we went on the Golden Circle Tour. We saw geysers, waterfalls, and tectonic plates. I was actually in North America and Eurasia at the same time! Also, Icela...

Jenny in Germany: A Tübingen Experience

Jenny in Germany: A Tübingen Experience. Monday, July 13, 2009. What country is this? A day in Strasbourg. There was a lot more to see that I just didn’t get around to, but even one day was enough to make me fall in love with Strasbourg. While there were definitely a fair share of tourists, it still had its own European air to it. I have definitely got to find a way to get back to see more of it. Amster- Amster- dam, dam, dam. Living in Grace

Reflections from the pen of one little Jenny in God's big world. Saturday, May 05, 2012. Thanksgiving Count Down Gratitude Chain. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. And Halloween is pretty much my least favorite. The only thing I really like about it are pumpkins and dressing up. Tonight, though, we're going to a Halloween party with some of our favorite family friends. The plan is to share a meal together and do some craft projects with the kids. And culminating on Thanksgiving itself.
