Monday, April 18, 2011. MTV Cribs: Nipa Hut Edition. Another option could have been the 18th or 28th since the figure 8 represents constantly going up. As you can tell (and as my host mom told me repeatedly), Filipinos have so many beliefs. When construction began, 8 coins were placed under each post of the house in order to bring success. In which food is provided for workers who volunteer their time to work out in the heat of the Philippine sun and through the cold rain to complete the project. When we completed the guardhouse and footbridge were ready for the formal guardhouse inauguration. Construction begins in Barangay Tando. That's what friends are for. George, Jade, Bhym2, and Esek help deliver nipa for the roof of the guardhouse. Me and Roy, the guardhouse construction manager.

I have my official leave date to be October 31! The ordinance has passed in both the municipal and provincial offices declaring the new Balcon Marine Protected Area. Then we took a jeepney ride to Mayoyao, only 44 km away but the winding and unpaved mountain roads made the trip a 5 hour ride. It sounds grueling but the view along the way is spectacular!
