The adventures of Jen the journalist. I know, I disappeared, again. I'm sorry. I've started my new job, which I think is going pretty well but is certainly a big adjustment, James and I are moving in two weeks to a bigger apartment, and the wedding is roughly a month away. To say things are a little busy would be a serious understatement! And I'm gearing up for my job change, and getting pretty excited and nervous about both things. The adventures of Jen the journalist...: July 2007

http://www.jenthejournalist.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html

The adventures of Jen the journalist. Almost two months in the city. And I still don't feel settled. But, I did spend an hour writing about bread that won't go moldy. But, I know I'm doing ok at something else- my new project. I'm "freelancing" (I use the term loosely because it doesn't pay)for Filly. Luckily now I'm off the night shift, so I have a bit more time to have a life and get errands done. My tasks for the next week or two? 1 Find an apartment for September. At least two cool things this week.

The adventures of Jen the journalist...: Plugging along

http://www.jenthejournalist.blogspot.com/2008/05/plugging-along.html

The adventures of Jen the journalist. I've been working away as a sub on the Calgary site, which has been oddly filled with animal stories - wild hogs, stingrays and gorillas in particular - and don't have much to report. James and I have been busy wedding planning (with only 80 days left! And I'm gearing up for my job change, and getting pretty excited and nervous about both things. The adventures of Jen the journalist...: April 2008

http://www.jenthejournalist.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

The adventures of Jen the journalist. So, I'm leaving the CBC. Which is terrifying, invigorating and exciting. Part of me wants to slam on the brakes to avoid the change, while the other half is putting the pedal to the floor to get my new challenges started. I will miss the Mother Corp though. I've been in Toronto for almost a year, it will be a year by the time I leave, and almost everyone I know in the city is there. I still don't have a whole lot of friends here - it's hard when you schedule ...Enjoy...

The adventures of Jen the journalist...: November 2007

http://www.jenthejournalist.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

The adventures of Jen the journalist. A month until Christmas. Actually, slightly less than a month, but I'm late putting up this entry. Job searching is exhausting. I think the only thing that keeps me going with it is that I know when I finally succeed, I won't have to do it again for awhile. Like, at least a year depending on the job. For example, fact checker for a magazine? Or reporter on all issues Canadian Idol? I haven't resorted to marketing/advertising/pr applications yet, because I know if I g...

The adventures of Jen the journalist...: June 2007

http://www.jenthejournalist.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

The adventures of Jen the journalist. I have been a bad blogger. But, I have an excuse! I've been without internet, which made my blogging nearly impossible. So, for all of you waiting with baited breath, updates will now be forthcoming of the move, the job, and even a small fire. The boy has started work at pcworld.ca. And he's loving it. He's working a lot, but getting to do a lot of neat online tech news type stuff. The bunny has settled in nicely, with only a few escape attempts. For the first little...

Around in circles | scrambled eggs and grilled cheese

https://wallk.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/around-in-circles

Scrambled eggs and grilled cheese. Nerd Knitter. Gamer. Geek. I love a good crossword in the morning. March 4, 2009. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I’m currently working on a tiny sweater. It is, apparently, easier to knit tiny things because they progress so much faster (leading to less frustration and more self-esteem) and also because they involve much less yarn. More interestingly, this is my first real attempt at circular knitting. Response to “Around in circles”. Feed for this Entry. You are commenti...

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. I'm being bribed (and i love it! Much like my new. Friend, brian crecente. I received not only a copy of gta iv. From rockstar games (who up until this point, i didn't think i would get anything from), i also got neat reviewer prizes! I call them reviewer prizes, because editorial perks, giveaways and all other descriptions seem lame. I prefer to think of them as prizes. that way, i win. And a bunch of wicked cool stickers for my bike! Stuff that came with my collector's edition.

Scrambled eggs and grilled cheese. Nerd Knitter. Gamer. Geek. And finally, acceptance. March 2, 2009. Has followed the Toronto Star. Into the realm of multi-layered commenting; that is to say it now allows readers to react positively or negatively to comments left on news stories. Which sounds like a good idea until comments extending sympathy to the family of a person who has died start racking up the “disagrees.”. Responses to “Y/N”. Feed for this Entry. Lamest. Title. Ever.: June 2008

http://lamesttitleever.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 18, 2008. We're out of beta, we're releasing on time (ds download). Someone made an oh-so-delectable version of portal for the ds which is not only fun and intuitive to play with the stylus controls, but also supports customizable maps. Download the game and the map editor here. It's called still alive ds. And you can catch me playing it on the bus and subway from now until motion sickness kicks in. Still alive (mostly),. I'm sure they're all worth $40. And the hits keep coming. I'm not f...

While i really appreciate the thought and hooking up with a new company is rad, sega of america skimmed my e-mail requesting review copies and information and plunked a ps3 version of condemned 2. Into a ups envelope and sent it through the wonderful courier network. So we're at this again. I can just say 'f-it', leave the game and go on to one of the many other reviews i still need to write. The point of no return.

https://wallk.wordpress.com/2009/05/13/glorious-news

Scrambled eggs and grilled cheese. Nerd Knitter. Gamer. Geek. May 13, 2009. I’ve given up on designing my own site (it’s so hard to be satisfied with one’s own work). Thanks to the miracle of WordPress, kerryannwall.com. Is up and running. I will continue to blog here, mostly about nerdy things such as video games and hockey and all other things unrelated to my professional self, and I will eventually get game girls. Up and running, I swear. Responses to “Glorious news”. Feed for this Entry.

The news and reflections of a health visitor. December 15, 2016. Having worked in Paeds A&E prior to my jump into health visiting, sepsis is something I’ve always been aware of, and how vulnerable babies especially can be. Leah (who writes SCPHN’ing Along) has done a fantastic summary of today’s new guidelines – something we should familiarise ourselves with and be informing parents of at every opportunity. More information can also be sought from the sepsis trust website http:/ sepsistrust.org/. Apologi...

Adventures of a Joy Ninja. A First Time Travellers Blog. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. August 9, 2014. We walked up the cobbled and narrow Alfama streets to our Air BnB rental. The look on her face was one I’d come to see a lot over the next 10 days – joy and wonder! We went for a small walk around Alfama into Baixa where we had lunch at a small cafe. We took a taxi back and picked up a few groceries. Mum was feeling jet lag and she headed off to bed. I looked forward to...I wound m...

I'm telling you, the best feeling for me is looking at the clock on my desktop and seeing 5:00pm. I punch out and drive my car far, far, away from the office. It's kind of like that feeling when you see kids run off the bus to their house! Haha, yeah that's me in an adult sense. My husby found a place for us in San Diego! I took a shot ...

They've been reading the First World War poets and writing prose inspired by their work.
