First I heard of him was when I looked to see which song got #1 in Triple J’s hottest 100. I know, so sad. Had other things on my mind! Monday, June 22, 2009. In Sickness And In Health. I haven't blogged in an age. We've had a turbulent time of late with the wife being taken seriously ill and being flown down to Melbourne for treatment. I'm mightily pleased and relieved to report that the medication she's been given appears to be working and she's been back home for over a week now after being in St. Vincents for a fortnight. At least she's here. So sorry to hear about your wife being so ill. I hope her recovery continues to go well.

Sunday, February 08, 2009. As I type, fires rage all over Victoria and many Victorians are battling for their lives and the lives of others. The death toll currently stands at 35, but will surely rise. Hundreds of homes have been lost. There's a fire burning around Beechworth, where I work, only 40kms from here. I've been called into work as many of my colleagues are involved in the struggle to subdue the flames that threaten their property and their lives. May God protect them. Get your name down kid.

Thursday, November 27, 2008. Blood, Sweat And Beers. Two weeks remain on my training course. I've been on placement locally for the last fortnight, but return to the course on Sunday. I'm really enjoying it. It has been intense, challenging and, above all, thoroughly interesting. We've covered all manner of things from fire-fighting to plain old fighting, use of pepper spray to use of a verbal spray. In addition we've also undergone much extra-curricular 'training' in the local pub. Links to this post.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Jentopia! Saturday, March 5, 2016. Loving my Instant Pot! My parents recommended getting an Instant Pot during the holidays. Apparently, the thing is all the rage and my parents had had an asian branded version for years and just kept it in storage. One my mom's friends said they should break it out and try it and since then, my parents have never put it away. Hard boiled eggs. I will never cook hard boiled eggs in any other way again! The shells are SO easy to peel off!

August 8, 2014. I really feel like we don’t have a ‘baby’ anymore! Little man is 9 months old today. He is really on the move. Not officially ‘crawling’ but rolling and wriggling and doing 360s! Constantly trying to pull himself up on things, especially in the bath and is continually frustrated with life not being able to get where he wants to go. So 8 months was hard!
