One of the photos I was actually perched outside the top hatch of a C-130J Super Hercules to get the photo of another C-130 as it taxied to it's final parking spot. Shot with a Nikon D4 and 70-200mm 2.8 VR lens with a 1.4x teleconverter. To give motion to the blades, I've found that a shutter speed of roughly 1/250 works best on these kind of props. Saturday, June 14, 2014. First post ever, yay! Well, I'm currently deployed to "Southwest Asia" with the Air Force as a photojournalist. I love the photography, but writing is a slow learning process. Regardless, I have one of the best jobs in the Air Force! Today I got to be the subject in a photo shoot for the first time.
