THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS

Sunday, March 4, 2018. February Recap Part 1 - It's gonna be long! Here I am again, three weeks overdue for keeping my goal of posting every week. Ugggh. February was another busy, busy month. Lots going on! I'll start today with my goals for February and then move on to more exciting and/or important things. 1) Exercise and lose weight. My goal was to be down to a steady 150 by the end of the month and I nailed it. I managed to log 150 or under for the last 8 days of the month! 3) Continue blog posts.

THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS: September 2013

https://jeridaniels.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 21, 2013. It's so nice out there. When I woke up Budd was sitting in the courtyard, having a cup of coffee, talking to his mom. I stepped out for a moment because I wanted to take a picture of our Sage bushes, which are blooming beautifully this week. I'm learning that they bloom a whole lot more when there's rain to water them. I love these bushes when they're in bloom! Speaking of inside, my nectarine tree is flourishing! So, what did I accomplish? Surviving the past two weeks!

THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS: July 2014

https://jeridaniels.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 10, 2014. You see, the doctors have said that the outlook isn't good at all. That the stroke will leave him paralyzed and unable to walk, and possibly without the ability to talk or read or write and that has always been his life! He told me to ALWAYS pray for healing, but not to ever tell him how to do it." I thought back to my question, "What do you want us to do." I'm pretty sure that the message I received was "Believe! We believe, we believe. I began praying, "You are where our hope i...

THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS: Jeri's Life in the Desert

https://jeridaniels.blogspot.com/2014/05/jeris-life-in-desert.html

Sunday, May 4, 2014. Jeri's Life in the Desert. She was wise beyond her age! We had a number of conversations about God and when I started attending church at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral I invited her to join me. After attending for awhile she decided to become Catholic and asked us to become her godparents. She was baptized, confirmed and accepted into full communion at the 2005 Easter Vigil service. It was a wonderful day for all of us. This picture was taken at Keylee's wedding in 2008. My grandparent...

THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS: July 2013

https://jeridaniels.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 21, 2013. It's been pretty humid lately and the temperature at 4:00 pm was 87 degrees. Crazy, for the middle of July! Last night we had a downpour that filled up the green space beside our house. Instant lakefront property (hee-hee). Today there were flash flood warnings to the north of us and the sky up there was almost black but we just got a few drops by our house. Not much sun today - even though it is Sunday! THINGS I'VE ACCOMPLISHED THIS WEEK:. THINGS I NEED TO WORK ON:. Have to take a...

THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS: February 2014

https://jeridaniels.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 22, 2014. Jeri's Life in the Desert. I can't believe my last post was at the beginning of February and next Saturday will be March 1st. Holy cow! The good thing is that Spring Break is only two weeks away! It's early enough that I should be able to complete this and still work on some of the other projects. This picture of Marie was taken before we moved to Arizona. I also managed to get one of her with Budd. Four generations (also taken before we moved)! This neat dragon in the middle!

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: December 2012

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Renewed Focus, New Direction. This is an exciting time of the year for me. God faithfully uses the holiday season, from Thanksgiving through Christmas to the New Year, to stir my heart, clean out dry and useless areas of my life, and bring fresh direction for the coming year. Too often in past years, the busyness, focus on buying, wrapping and giving gifts, overload of preparations, overload of food and so many other distractions have d...

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: June 2011

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Monday, June 6, 2011. Different areas of the country have different kinds of soil. Some have sandy soil, others have rich black dirt. And the composition and texture of the soil impacts what plants will grow, as well as the quality of the fruit produced. Each of our individual lives and perspectives have different kinds of soil also. We are rooted in the soil of culture. Culture reflects the traditions and priorities of those who taught and trained us. Our chara...

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: November 2011

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Friday, November 18, 2011. Where to Turn in Crisis. In the past few days I have spent much time communicating with friends who are in crisis situations; one with her child, one facing the possibility of cancer, and another who is dealing with the diagnosis of a disease that the doctor’s say has no cure but which may have devastating implications on her future quality of life. Where do you go for help? Where do you turn for answers? He makes the difference. I have ta...

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: November 2009

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Saturday, November 28, 2009. For much of my life, I took it for granted that in America there is a holiday set aside to “give thanks” for the many blessings in our lives. This celebration began in our nation almost 400 years ago and was intended to be a day focused on God, to thank Him for the gifts of His provision of health, food and the other basics of life. C S Lewis once wrote, “. Suz in the country. Thursday, November 19, 2009. What would we plant? We are told...

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: November 2012

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Thursday, November 29, 2012. One nation under God, indivisible. In 1892, these words, so familiar to Americans, were written into what is today called the “pledge of allegiance” to the flag of the United States of America. The author was a Baptist pastor named Francis Bellamy. Interestingly enough, the words “under God” were not added until more than half a century later, in 1954 .(1). 8226; We are “fitted together” as stones of a building. Is that even possible?

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 17b.). So, how do we know what is perfect timing? Farmers who produce fruit and vegetables for a living, study and learn from their years of experience. Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: December 2009

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. The "detour of adversity". In my perspective, this relates to gardening. Gardening is hard work. Gardens don’t just happen. The ground becomes hard and has to be worked often. It takes plowing and tilling the ground, weeding, and much other preparation so that the ground will be softened and useful for planting and growing. She wrote, “. And as for me this year, I couldn’t ask for more! I have asked the Lord for a long time to please de...

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life: March 2011

http://lessonslearnedinthegarden.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Lessons Learned in the Garden of Life. Monday, March 28, 2011. What do you have? Last summer, the Lord began to work something into my spirit. He used a devotional which talked about a man named Shamgar. Shamgar’s story is found in the Old Testament portion of the Bible. Our friend wrote:. 8220;’Shamgar . . struck down six hundred Philistines with an ox goad. He too saved Israel.’ (Judges 3:31 NIV). One man, unarmed, against six hundred Philistine warriors! What do you have? What is your special ability?

Jerid, Jenny & Baby Axel

Jerid, Jenny and Baby Axel. Thursday, July 5, 2012. A few great pics from the last few weeks. A few weekends ago we were able to spend some time with my family while Mike was in town for Britni's first temple trip. We went to Great America in San Jose and just had some plain fun up at my parents. - Two peas in a pod! Axel looks a lot like Mike when he was a babe. Enjoying some Micky D's before Great America! Brooklyn's first BIG roller coaster! Pool time with Grandpa is the BEST! Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
