Today i played with thumbnails/icon stuff, and noticed that almost all icons i have seen are square. say 64×64, and so that people implementing thumbnails were allocating a square space. But most images, photo, television or snapshot from movie, are more in the 4/3 or even 16/9. So allocating it as a square produces ’empty layout’ for nothing.
