mekanaranch: That Was Fast
http://mekanaranch.blogspot.com/2007/08/that-was-fast.html
Wednesday, August 1, 2007. I can't believe how fast they shipped it to me. It was pretty easy and quick to assemble too. My sand footing has been delivered! The guy dumped it in two long strips in the center of the round pen. We spread most of it (pretty evenly, too) with 2 shovels, 2 rakes, and 3 manure forks (the manure forks were manned by the kids). If I can move at all tomorrow, we'll finish the last tiny bit. It has kind of just blown me away. LOL. August 2, 2007 at 6:02 PM. Oh, my post worked!

mekanaranch: May 2007
http://mekanaranch.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 28, 2007. Shearing was a challenge this year. Something is wrong with my clippers. Got the two girls done pretty fast, but I had to shear 1/3 of the wether with a pair of scissors. He looks like a badly groomed poodle with tufts sticking out here and there, and fluffy legs. In hind sight, I really should have taken pictures to laugh at later. But it was really frustrating, and by the end, I just wanted to get done and have a drink! Be amazingly inexpensive around these parts! The wind is play...

mekanaranch: July 2007
http://mekanaranch.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2007. So here is a pic of the cart I ordered. Mine will be black instead of green. It should. Be the right size. I don't know how she did it, but Oldest dd somehow convinced DH that "just one more" mini would make a good birthday gift for her. That way, she reasoned, there would be a mini for each of the kids to train. You can see where this is going. Pretty soon they'll each want their own cart. And then that will leave me without a mini or a cart. Monday, July 30, 2007. My two fall so...

mekanaranch: Earth Box... (they should totally pay me)
http://mekanaranch.blogspot.com/2007/08/earth-box-they-should-totally-pay-me.html
Friday, August 10, 2007. Earth Box. (they should totally pay me). Here is that Earth Box explosion I told you about. A few weeks later:. The tomatoes are producing well, but they didn't have the same growth explosion that the herbs did. That doesn't really surprise me; I bought those tomato plants when they were a little too big, and it was a little too late in the season. I'll still get a good number of home grown tomatoes this year, but I think next year will be a better one for the 'maters. Lifesavers...

mekanaranch: Riding and Trimming
http://mekanaranch.blogspot.com/2007/08/riding-and-trimming.html
Tuesday, August 7, 2007. A girl and her horse. LOVE the Cashel soft saddle! Also the Pony Boy bitless bridle. All of us use these bridles; the horses seem to love them and are very responsive in them. I don't see a need to mess around with bits if a bitless does the job just as well. This is my mini-grinder that I use to trim hooves. I love how small and light it is. love the little 2" flap disc. Easy to handle, and it gets the job done! Yeah, you've got some pictures! Looks like a happy girl.

mekanaranch: January 2007

Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Farriers Do Not Get Paid Enough. I've been trimming my horses' hooves for a few years now. The last year has been completely on my own, as my mentor is hugely successful and BUSY with his barefoot trimming business. Plus, I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing now. ;-) That always helps. Tomorrow I'm trimming the mare, and then this weekend I'll trim my other gelding. That's another plus. Trimming them myself really is convenient, because I can do it on my own schedule. Where...
