He's been breeding since before he was a year old. He's sired a lot of different colors and strange patterns. Jersey West is located in suburban Central NJ, in an area where much of the farm land has disappeared under housing developments. However, there still are a few tracts of farm land hidden away. I brought sheep with me to the farm in 1999. Previously the facilities were used for dairy, hogs, and the beef herd that still calls the farm home. Read about how I got into the breed here.

Bella opened lambing season a day before my vacation began and her sister, Butterfly, closed lambing season after I went back to work. Those silly sisters. Butterfly gave birth to beautiful twin boys, Banjo on the left, and Bongo (center). Banjo looks so much like his mama did as a baby. The first group, six yearling ewes and stunning Mick, a ram, moved east of Scranton, PA. The ewes are 6 of the 7 sheep in the banner photo.
