Wish You Were Here: August 2013
http://wawntawnabroad.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Wish You Were Here. Sunday, August 11, 2013. Last Week of Christ's Life, Day 2. Words cannot describe my love for this place and the feelings I had going through Christ's last week with all my Jerusalem classmates. First thing in the morning we walked through Orson Hyde Gardens, here is my bud Lisa Judd. She is one of the smartest little girl I've ever met! I think it's pretty neat Orson Hyde has a garden dedicated to him. The true church still has its' remains here in the Holy Land! Forget me not :).

http://wawntawnabroad.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-dead-sea.html
Wish You Were Here. Thursday, July 18, 2013. Where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found! Located below the cliffs of the Judean wilderness near the Dead Sea. The Essenes were a faction of Judaism who practiced monasticism here, and produced the Dead Sea Scrolls. Some of my favorites :). Who knew a desert could be so beautiful? Seeing the vast amazing desert made me realize that beauty really does come in all sorts of packages. Now the Dead Sea. The salinity of the Dead Sea is 33%. Random, but too good). The D...

TYNMYTYE: 1st Sabbath in the Holy Land
http://tynmytye.blogspot.com/2013/03/1st-sabbath-in-holy-land.html
Friday, March 22, 2013. 1st Sabbath in the Holy Land. The JC, aka Mormon University. Here in the Holy Land we observe the Sabbath on Saturday. Truth be told, I think I like it better than on Sunday. Anyway, for our first Sabbath, after church, we went on a trip to the Garden Tomb. Very close to the tomb, just outside the site, there is a hill that could very well be Golgotha. Can you see the skull in the side of the hill? The director of the Garden Tomb came and talked to us. Ashley, Ann, and Janessa.

Wish You Were Here: February 2013
http://wawntawnabroad.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wish You Were Here. Thursday, February 28, 2013. Anne, Taylor and I, loving life. Reminded me a bit of the Old City in Jerusalem, but parts of it felt like an antique garage sale. We could have spent a long time shopping around there. but the beach was calling. Indiana Jones shops like this were all along the street. I love these cute juice shops. Now here is the real shop. the surf shop. The water felt so serene, I was literally as happy as a kid in a candy store. Motivational graffiti, the best kind.

Wish You Were Here. Saturday, April 13, 2013. Galilee, Sweet Galilee. Church of Nazareth/Basilica of the Annunciation. This church commemorates and is believed to be the location where the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, telling her she would become the mother of the Son of God (Luke 1:26-38). Around the entire church and top floor were incredible mosaics from countries around the world, all about the birth of our Savior. This church is also the largest Catholic church building in all the Middle East.

TYNMYTYE: June 2013
http://tynmytye.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 7, 2013. So this was our first trip to the Orson Hyde Gardens. I am actually related to Orson Hyde, so it has been really cool to visit these gardens and spend time reflecting. Due to the nature of the neighborhood, we visit the gardens with groups of at least ten, just to be safe and sure that nothing happens. On the walk over we had a pretty big surprise. Huge piles of garbage. Pretty sad, especially when you recall everything that happened here on the Mount of Olives. Eden in her garden.
