A peek into our everday lives. Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Day 3, Part 1- Waimea Valley. One of the things that I wanted to do while in Hawaii was hike to a waterfall. We ended up going to Waimea Valley. A historical nature park with botanical gardens and a waterfall. We didn't know that they had swimming at the falls until we got there. Boy, were we glad that we had brought along our bathing suits! Ancient Hawaiian living site. Jared and I at the foot of the falls. They even do cliff diving events here.

This was another busy day because we were trying to squeeze in the things we still really wanted to do. We really need at least one more day). It called for using crochet thread and I found it difficult to handle, due to my arthritis. So, I switched to sports weight and worsted weight yarn and matched the needle to get a nice tight stitch. I love the size and the patterns work up so cute! The next batch of animals came from this Leisure Arts Booklet. The lion and the hippo are my favorites! I LOVE this little guy!

I love seeing them pop out of the ground and wait anxiously for the blooms. The next arrival I look for are the robins. We live in an area where they migrate away and I look forward to their return. Today I saw my first chipmunk. They have come out of hibernation. And sure sign number four - I heard tree frogs last night when I took the dogs out!
